Garbage Grab: Week 11

Less talking and more waiver stalking. This is the week 11 Garbage Grab.

Marquise Goodwin WR, Buffalo Bills: I liked Goodwin last week, and though it didn’t really pay off, he just can’t fail this week. Lead dog Stevie Johnson is out with a groin injury, as is Robert Woods (ankle), leaving Goodwin, T.J. Graham, and Chris Hogan to handle receiving duties. I like Goodwin the most, as he’s picked up more than 50 yards in three of his last five games.

Greg Little WR, Cleveland Browns: Much to the chagrin of Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron owners, Greg Little is seeing more action with Jason Campbell under center. The fact is that more teams are paying attention to Gordon and Cameron, and Little, and to a lesser extent Davone Bess, are getting more targets. I don’t see why this trend wouldn’t continue against Cincinnati this week.

Rob Housler TE, Arizona Cardinals: Housler is finally starting to show his talent on the field, although it’s already halfway through the season. To his credit, he was injured for a large part of it. Carson Palmer is having a tough time getting the ball to his receivers downfield, so it makes sense that he’s utilizing his tight ends more. Housler is of the same ilk of  Jordan Cameron or Rob Gronkowski, so look out, once he gets on a roll.

Rishard Matthews WR, Miami Dolphins: We got a glimpse of what Matthews is capable of last Monday versus the Buccaneers, and with Mike Wallace questionable this week, He could be in for even more work. Taking the spot that Brandon Gibson was getting consistent production in until he got injured, Matthews has tons of upside on an offense trying to find its playmakers for the future.

Brandon Bostick TE, Green Bay Packers: Bostick has the benefit of playing with Scott Tolzien as backups on the Pakers, before fate would have both of them in the starting lineup. Bostick plays the move tight end in the Packers offense, and has more potential to make plays than Andrew Quarless. He will serve as a nice safety valve to a third string QB under duress from an emerging defensive stalwart in the Giants.

Leonard Hankerson WR, Washington Redskins: In what is shaping up to be a high flying game, Hankerson has the ability to to rack up yards on a Philly secondary that has allowed the most fantasy points to receivers on the season. He will be especially potent in PPR leagues, as he’s been getting at least a handful of receptions per game in the last couple.

Bobby Rainey RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Brian Leonard has been the hot pickup in the Mike James fallout, but Rainey is the more explosive back. I think both of them will be productive against the woeful Falcons this Sunday, but Rainey is the guy who could end up breaking one off. If I was desperate at running back this week, Rainey would be an easy choice to make in a pinch.

Jason Campbell QB, Cleveland Browns: Campbell has never gotten a fair shake in the NFL, as far as I’m concerned, so I’m glad to see him thriving in Cleveland. He’s got a loaded arsenal of pass catching options, and an offensive line that is at least passable in protection. Cincinnati is not the pass defending juggernaut it once was due to injuries, so I like Campbell to do work on their secondary. He’s a nice bye-week fill in for those who need it.

  1. Hi Trashman

Would you start Arizona defense over KC defense this week?

    Thank you

    1. Yo Dokken, I have to go with Arizona in a juicy matchup with Jacksonville. Don’t drop kc though.

  2. Trashman-

Do you think Housler would be a better bet than Tim Wright this week in a standard league?

    Thanks!

    1. Hey DD, I like housler this week. With floyd nursing an injury, he may get more targets than usual. Wright hasn’t shown us anything in weeks, and was only targeted once last game.

  3. Trash man – woodhead buck Allen or TJ yeldon? Thanks!
