2016 RosterWatch Cheat Sheets In Auction Drafts
Many of you have asked about how to use the cheat sheet in auction drafts. It is actually one of the best formats for using the sheet, so we’ve created this simple set of auction instructions to go with the Auction Sheets now available in your downloads section. Remember, this set of instructions is different from the three easy steps on the cheat sheet – and only to be used if you are participating in an auction as opposed to a traditional snake format. Rosterwatch PRO members can find both the “traditional” (snake draft) cheat sheets in their downloads section as well as separate sheets to be used in auctions.
1) Next to each player, in space provided, record the player’s auction price to the winning bidder.
2) With opening bid, nominate a player you are not interested in, preferably outside of the Top 10-15 range positionally as listed.
3) Take a non-aggressive approach to early bidding and allow a small market sample of winning bids to appear recorded on your cheat sheet.
4) Identify auction nominations where it appears players higher up on the sheet may be had for less budget than players below him went for.
5) Bid aggressively on players in these situations until the value no longer exists.

Hey guys,
I did my 1st keeper auction last year, I have to write to gloat, and I do have a simple question too
200 $ budget
last year I traded ODB (43$) for cooper (19$) and Allen Rob (12$)
Now my team is as follows
-Capn Kirk (1$ this year up to 4 $)
-Gurley man (20$ – now 23$)
-Woodpenis (4$)
-Duke (7$)
-Traded for Dez (45$) and a large salary since I freed up so much cap space trading ODB –
-Cooper *(22$)
-Allen Rob *(15$)
-Evans (33$)
-Watkins (17$)
-Ertz (5$)
– so looking at it now, I should have probably cut woodpenis and duke loose right ?
-was my pick up of Dez $$ a wise one ?
– I have 27 dollars to fill 10 roster spots , though I am not worried in the least, I have a full starting line up minus Def and K . and this roster I have here , I cant see anyone coming close to. do you ?
– What would you guys focus your energy on for the remainder of my roster ?
– a better QB ? rock solid Def ?
– any guys you see going for dirt cheap ?
Keep fighting the good fight
we think you have it right. That is monster roster brother, nice work.
In a 12-team, standard scoring, dynasty league. My RBs are LeSean, Jamaal and Doug Martin.
Question: Who is the higher value handcuff – West, Ware, Sims or anyone in the Buffalo backfield?
I know how the cheat sheet ranks these guys (PRO Member since 2015!), but wanted to get your take considering this is a specific handcuff question.
You guys are awesome!
Thanks Emilio, I’d say Karlos Williams. Even with the suspension, I think he has the most value in dynasty. Sims has more standalone value right now though.
I’ve got a question after the draft pick trade I just did. I pick 10th normally in a snake, but after this trade my draft picks will look like this in a 0.5 PPR 10 man league.
7, 10, 14
30, 51
67, 70, 71
90, 91, 110, 111, etc.
So my question is do I go strictly off of the cheat sheet with these weird picks or do I switch things up a little bit with how spaced out my picks are? I only have 1 pick between 31-66 so that’s a big gap. I know I have to look at what’s on the board, but in those first 4 picks how do you think I should focus my attention RB/WR wise since this is a weird situation?
Thanks in advance.
I don’t think you should stray to far. I’d just make sure one of those top three picks is not a QB or TE, as the fields are exceptionally deep this year.
On the sheet, how would players’ values change if it was 1 point per 25 kick return yards and 1 point per 25 punt return yards? Lockett comes to mind, what others? How do their values differ from the sheet?
hey RW nation!
looking for thoughts and opinions on a keeper rule that is being voted on right now and i’m torn on how to vote. last year was the first year of this espn 10 team ppr “keeper” league (1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 flex [rb/wr/te], 1 te, 5 bench, 1 ir, etc) where all we really knew was that going into future seasons each team could keep two players that would consume the first two rounds of the draft of the snake draft. also there isn’t any limits on how many years you can keep people either nor rules against trading players for picks. also there doesn’t seem to be a deadline for when teams to need to enter/declare their keepers either
the commish now put a poll up where we are trying to decide between three options:
1) everyone is required to keep 2 players
2) required to only keep 1 player
3) not required to keep anyone
so basically if a team didn’t keep one or two players then they would essentially get to pick first out of the player pool players not kept with their 1st/2nd round picks and for those who keep players and the remaining teams, then the real draft starts at round 3.
i’m not sure how to vote … i mean i’m in a huge position of strength here since i am the owner of gurley, hopkins (traded julio for him last year) and i even have dez too so obviously i want to keep gurley and hopkins. this would mean my first real draft pick would be pick 7 in round 3 (27 overall) and then pick 4 in round 4 (34 overall).
meanwhile there are a couple teams who in my opinion really have bad options for keepers if they are forced to keep 2 so the competitive part of me is like “screw them it’s their own fault for being terrible” while the other part of me is like “mandatory 2 keepers seems unbalancing because if a team doesn’t have three players that are worth a draft round of 1-2, the team is at a big disadvantage before the season even starts and it doesn’t seem like there’s anything they can do about it because the keepers are mandatory, well except trade picks?” so what does everyone think about how the rule should be implemented going forward? are there other factors we should be considering here?
EDIT: i traded julio for GURLEY last year … i didn’t trade julio for hopkins. i drafted nuk thanks to the cheatsheet!
I don’t think keepers should be mandatory.
Het guys,
Quick question…I’m in a 2 keeper league in which we do an auction draft with a $200 budget. I got OBJ ($53), Mike Evans ($40), and Doug Martin ($20) that I’m thinking of keeping. I think the value is good to keep OBJ at $53…he will likely go for $70 + in this league. Of the other two, which one should I keep? Evans or Martin?
I think Martin represents the better value, and he is probably the safer play.
I am in a 12 team full point ppr redraft league. We get 6 pts per passing, rushing, and receiving TDs. In addition, we get 1 point per pass completion and 1 point per rushing attempt. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DEF with 7 bench spots. I drafted 12th in the snake draft and got the following roster using your cheat sheet.
QB: Philip Rivers
RB: C.J. Anderson, DeMarco Murray, Devontae Booker, Deandre Washington, Javorius Allen, Keith Marshall
WR: A.J. Green, Dez Bryant, Julian Edelman, Kelvin Benjamin, DeSean Jackson, Josh Gordon
TE: Travis Kelce
DEF: Eagles
K: Chandler Catanzaro
Unfortunately, another team drafted Derrick Henry before I could. I usually stream defenses and kickers each week. In addition, I didn’t bother drafting a second TE or QB. What do you think of my team? Do I need to make any adjustments prior to the beginning of the regular season? If you could let me know, I would greatly appreciate it.
Your team looks great. Solid on all fronts, except maybe def, though the Browns could very well be who they’ve always been in week 1.
Update for tonight? We at least need to know how Bell and De’Angelo change on the sheet since Bell’s suspension went from 4 to 3 games. AJ still over Dez after game 1? Update on Murray and Henry? I have so many questions and my draft is tonight
We’re doing our best to have it up today friend.
Awesome, thanks! The sooner the better for me, I have to go to a library to print it off haha. We appreciate the hard work
Hey guys, great work again this year.
I need advice for drafting in a league with a very wonky scoring system. 12 team full PPR
QB:
1 point for every 10 yards
.2 points for every attempt
-.1 for every incompletion
3.5 points for every 5 completions
6 points per touchdown
RB:
.2 point every yard
.5 point for every attempt
WR:
.25 per yard
.25 per target
Thanks
Thanks friend. Try some mocks with the 2 QB Cheat Sheet. You might be better served using that. If you end up getting weak mocks, I’d stick with the PPR Cheat Sheet and aim for a Cousins, River or Carr later.
12 team dynasty league / Std. Scoring.
I’ve got a trade offer where I:
Give – Diggs, Doug Martin
Get – Ryan Mathews, Jordy Nelson
My remaining skill players are RBs (Jamaal, LeSean) & WRs (Hopkins, Desean, Cobb, Hurns, Lockett).
We play 2WRs, 2RBs and 1 flex (WR/RB).
Do the trade?
i’m not making that trade in dynasty.
Alright let me throw down my team from last night. 0.5 PPR, big bonuses for RBs over WRs. We only have 4 bench spots.
QB – Blake Bortles
RB – David Johnson
RB – Lamar Miller
WR – Deandre Hopkins
WR – Amari Cooper
WR/RB – Eric Decker
FLEX – Sterling Shepard
K – Brian McManus
D/ST – Arizona
BN – Ryan Matthews
BN – Josh Gordon
BN – Derrick Henry
BN – Kevin White
Love the team, I’ve been telling you guys that on Twitter during your show. However, my issue is that I don’t know what to do about CJ2K. He’s still available, but can you actually see me giving up one of those players for him? What do you guys think?
Well the good thing is that everyone else only has 4 bench spots too. I doubt cj will get picked up until he’ll be of use. by that time the choice should be easier.
Are y’all going to release a projected value chart for auction draft?
