FILM: Denzel Boston is WR #12
- Towering outside receiver with the good enough speed to stress defenses vertically and the play-strength to consistently win in high-point and contested-catch situations
- Terrific body control in adjusting to deep balls and seeing them in with high-level ball skills
- Elite catch radius
- Outstanding route-running salesmanship; fully commits with eyes, shoulders, and stride mechanics to sell the post before snapping off the corner, leaving DBs flat-footed; Excellent ability to displace man defenders’ hips on double-moves and compound routes
- Terrific 2025 NFL QB rating when targeted in man coverage (134.1) but it fell drastically when targeted versus zone coverage (63.5), causing concern that he’s still developing spatial awareness and coverage feel when working against zone structures
- Red-zone maven – 20 combined receiving TDs over the last two seasons
- Strong, angry runner after-catch; plays with a real chip-on-the-shoulder edge and dog mentality
- Brings added value as a punt returner should an NFL team choose to use him that way
- PFF 9th best receiving grade in 2025
- 27th in CFB through 2025 season in contest catch rate (76.9%)
- Brings true alignment versatility despite profiling as a pure outside X WR: was extremely efficient in 2025 with the the third-most yards per route run out of the slot in all of CFB (3.71)
- Very strong 2.38 yards per team pass attempt in 2025 (fifth-best in the class)
- Comp: Tee Higgins
Fantasy Outlook: There are questions about Boston’s speed that will need to be answered at the NFL combine (if he elects to run), and if he’s faster than expected, I assume we’ll see an ADP rise from the tier just outside of Makai Lemon, Jordyn Tyson and Carnell Tate fully into that tier. Pre-NFL draft, fantasy managers seem to be baking in Late RD1/Early RD2 draft capital for Boston, but again, if his draft capital is higher than that, expect him to rise. Before knowing the complete testing and draft capital profile, it feels like Boston will come off the board in dynasty rookie drafts around the same time as KC Concepcion, which will still require a mid-first round expenditure across formats and will most certainly come into play for redraft and best ball leagues should the NFL landing spot be an appealing one for his skill set and traits.
