Trashman’s Fantasy Outlook:

Concepcion brings one of the more compelling early-breakout profiles in this class. He began his collegiate career at NC State, where he immediately flashed as a true freshman and established himself as a focal point of the passing game. That early production, especially at his age, is a strong indicator of translatable receiving skill rather than scheme-driven output, as some critics have alleged.

He later transferred to Texas A&M, where his role shifted within a deeper and more physically imposing receiver room. He went primarily playing the slot to playing outside most of the time. While the raw numbers didn’t spike in the same way, the move exposed him to SEC competition and NFL-caliber defensive backs. His ability to maintain efficiency and versatility in a new system speaks to his adaptability and football intelligence.

On film, Concepcion wins with quickness, route nuance, and feel for space. He consistently creates separation in the short and intermediate areas and is dangerous after the catch. He’s slippery in a sneaky way, conserving motion in his jukes. Size will always be the limiting factor for Concepcion, particularly in contested situations and near the goal line, but his skill set fits cleanly into modern, slot-driven offenses.

From a fantasy perspective, Concepcion projects as a PPR-oriented slot receiver whose value will be driven by targets and manufactured touches. His breakout age, early production, and versatility give him a clearer fantasy pathway than most receivers in his archetype. In dynasty formats, he profiles as a priority target among undersized receivers and should be valued over raw traits-based bets who lack his résumé.

Alex’s Scouting Notes

  • Alpha dog of a slightly undersized receiver who plays bigger than his physical stature in the mold of players like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jaylin Noel
  • Was used almost exclusively out of the slot in his first two seasons at NC State (94% and 82% slot rates) before transferring to Texas A&M where he was used much more outside (34% slot rate); has shown he can be very productive in both roles, but likely profiles as more a slot weapon at the NFL level
  • Ranked 51st in yards per route run (2.46) among 432 qualifying FBS WRs in 2025
  • Dependable chain-mover; ranked 15th in FBS in receptions for first downs – 48 of his 61 receptions in 2025 went for first downs
  • Got to see a vertical element to his game upon getting to A&M in SEC play; showcased real top-end speed to stretch defenses vertically
  • Great stems at the top of his routes; definitely gets in and out of them like a jitterbug slot receiver even when operating outside; explodes at route’s transition point to create separation – rarely has a need to win with contested catches thanks to natural separation skills
  • Terrific hands and hand-eye coordination; can elevate explosively to high-point and stretch for poorly placed footballs (which we saw relatively often from A&M QB Marcel Reed)
  • Much more than a gadget WR, but is used in all sorts of ways, on jet sweeps, screens, manufactured touches, etc. to get the ball in his hands and take advantage of his open-field dynamism
  • Was the No.1 receiving target on an offense that had another SEC alpha-type receiver in Mario Craver
  • Comps: Jordan Addison, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jaylin Noel
