PRO 2026 Rookie Spotlight: Omar Cooper Jr., WR Indiana
Omar Cooper Jr., WR Indiana
Height: 6-0
Weight: 199
Hands: 9 ⅝”
Arms: 30 ⅛”
40 yard dash (projected): 4.42
2026 Age: 22
Breakout Age: 21
NFL Comparison: Golden Tate, Parker Washington
- Well-proportioned and alignment-versatile receiver with documented long speed to stress defenses vertically from the boundary or up the seam while also functioning as a highly QB-friendly target versus zone by finding soft spots, securing the football and generating extra yardage after the catch
- Bulldog mentality with the ball in his hands, defenses don’t want him getting into the open field unimpeded
- Shows strong body control and spatial awareness, consistently adjusting (and sometimes leaping) to secure the football and get his feet down along the boundary, in the back of the end zone, or in tight quarters
- 12th-best receiving grade in CFB during 2025 via PFF among 432 qualifiers
- Red-zone weapon: tied for third in FBS during 2025 with 13 receiving TDs
- 143.2 NFL QB passer rating when targeted in 2025 (10th best in CFB), and 5th best in all of CFB (153.1) when targeted versus zone looks
- Elite 3.15 yards per route run against zone coverages
- Worked out of the slot almost 85% of the time in 2025, but was almost exclusively an outside receiver in 2024 – has the verified speed to stress defenses vertically on the outside and likely shouldn’t be pigeonholed as a slot-only option based on solely 2025 film
- 7.2 YAC per reception in 2025 ranked 44th nationally
- Slight size concerns in relation to catch-radius; 11th-percentile arm length and 36th-percentile wingspan – although it should be noted that catch radius concerns also plagued one of the best WRs in the league today as a prospect: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (16th percentile arm; 36th percentile wing)
- Only three 100-plus-yard receiving games over the last two seasons with two of those coming against inferior opponents like Western Illinois and the other (his only true “explosion” game at the college level) coming against Indiana State
- Comp: Golden Tate
Fantasy Outlook: Cooper Jr. is a terrific receiver prospect and is generally thought of in the tier just outside of a grouping of five in Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, Jordyn Tyson, Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion (in the order you prefer). After those players, Cooper also seems like the odds-on favorite to be the next player off the board in the actual NFL draft, and worlds exist where he could even be taken as high as WR4 if a team finds him to be a better scheme fit than others. He has been productive and seems to be a good culture-type of player who could endear himself to a coaching staff, especially if these personal traits are also stacked with higher-than-expected draft capital. In dynasty leagues, Cooper is a reasonable target toward the back end of the first round of 12 team leagues for both superflex and 1QB.

Hey Guys!
Loving all of the great content, as usual!
Since we are approaching draft season, I have a dynasty question regarding 2026 draft picks.
My dynasty team currently sucks (I sold off all of my valuable players to recoup draft capital). I likely won’t win a single matchup this year, lol. I’m planning on a 2-3 year complete rebuild.
Should I stay with the draft picks I currently have, or package some of my other picks to try and move up? I know this class isn’t the best ever, so do I take as many dart throws as possible, or try to move up for potentially better prospects? Ex, use the 1.08 + one or two 2nd round picks to try and acquire the 1.02? Should I try to sell off some of my 2026 picks for 2027/2028 picks?
For context, the team with the 1.02 also has the 1.06.
Just trying to take the best approach possible.

You certainly weren’t lying when you said you weren’t going to win a game this year! lol, but lots of good picks.
My plan would be to Get J Love at 1.01 and hope for a KC Concepcion type at the 1.08. I think that him, Cooper, someone like that will fall there so I would not package it to trade up. in the early second, I would envision guys like Washington, maybe Sadiq(?) but certainly Stowers, certainly the RBs Coleman, Singleton, Emmett Johnson, etc. being available and I would want to take shots on all those guys thru that area. Hold onto your 2027s like they are your kids! That will be the draft you really start to build the identity of this team thru.
