It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

Week 2 Matchup

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Titans RB Bishop Sankey, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First look at the Titans’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. RBs” cell for the Titans’ OPPONENT.

(Sankey is an RB, and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Titans are playing the Browns, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. RBs” cell. This is a great indicator for Sankey and even Terrance West owners.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics from 2014 and Week 1 of 2015, but also weighted averages of separate individual player scouting grades for members of the 2015 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question. For the first 3 weeks of the 2015 season, trends to end 2014 are quantified and reflected in the overall matchup rating as well as a substantial focus offseason personnel changes.

    Need some starting advice. Here’s my roster
    QB: Big Ben, Palmer
    RB: forsett, latavius, woodhead, Abdullah, Blount
    WR: Antonio, Beckham jr, Jeffery smith sr, Fitzgerald
    TE: kelce, ASJ
    D/ST: lions
    K: Bryant

    Was going to start: Palmer, forsett, Abdullah, Antonio, Beckham, kelce, Bryant.

    My main question is should I start woodhead over Jeffery? And should I stream KC D rather than lions? Thanks!

      Great Question,

      By week’s end- we will likely recommend Martin over Gore as your RB2

      As a flex- we think Cooper is close to breaking out- but might wait to see it – if Hilton is out- we’d likely go Moncrief over Gore- tough matchup for Gore- would also like to see something out of him

        Martin will be my RB2 since Gore is facing that Jets D. I just realized my opponent is starting Luck at QB, so that probably pushes Moncrief over the top for that flex spot.

      We’d prob roll CJ out one more time hoping for a TD, DeAngelo is tempting and potentially a bit on the safer side- if she’s just looking for a solid option maybe not quite as much boom/bust

    Awesome tool, answers a lot of questions in one spot!!!!!……. I have my lineup set with one exception. Based on the tool, if I read it correctly, I am starting Brandon Cooks, DeAndre Hopkins and Mike Wallace and leaving Randal Cobb on the bench……12tm full point ppr. Need 3 of 4. Would you change anything? I’m also starting Doug Martin over Rashad Jennings based on the load share.

    2 QB league, 1/2 PPR, bigger boost to RB over 100 yards than receiver 100 yards. QB touchdowns are worth 5 points, but interceptions are also -5. Please let me know if my lineup is correct or if I should switch anyone around…

    In 2 leagues, so I made 2 separate posts… 1 point PPR, pretty basic scoring. I’m set on QB and TE, but I’m wondering about the other positions… those in question are these

    WR3 Devonte Adams
    RB1 Jeremy Hill (starting)
    RB2 Chris Ivory
    WR/TE slot – Stevie Johnson
    WR/TE/RB slot – Jonathan Stewart
    Bench: Latavius Murray (RB), Nelson Agholor (WR), James Jones (WR), Jerricho Cotchery (WR)

    Just not sure who to really play or if this looks good. Those in (starting) obviously aren’t in doubt, but what about the rest? Who would you lean towards?

    Okay guys some questions about my darn QB and TE position…

    Should I be starting Bridgewater vs. DET or dropping him for the higher ranked Dalton vs. SD?

    Also another Viking I’m concerned about is Rudolph so start him vs. DET or replace him with maybe D. Allen vs. NYJ or V. Davis @PIT who are ranked right above him ?

      that’s the safer play. cobb will be up against sherman much of the time. we’d still rank cobb higher because of the upside and he’s on a better team.

    I wanted to know if the match up tool was exportable as a csv or excel file so I could do some sorting and apply additional analysis and analytic’s. I couldn’t find that it was so I created a version myself that I am going to use to aid in DFS picks.       it’s tough, but i’d probably make that trade. garcon’s volume should help make up for the upside loss.
