Big Ben- High Ankle Sprain. Fantasy Impact of Injury

Big Ben- High Ankle Sprain. Fantasy Impact of Injury

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger had an MRI today which confirmed he did indeed suffer a high-ankle-sprain in Thursday night’s home victory against the Browns.  He will wear a walking boot through the weekend, and then test it early next week. It is typically a 1-3 week injury, with one week being on the extremely fast side recovery-wise.

I say-

1) He played on it last night.
2) This is a long week off, and Ben isn’t necessarily “Wolverine-like” with recovery ability, he is tough as nails and will play when he is a little hurt.
3) As I said Week 3, Big Ben may actually be better when his mobility is impaired. When he loses his signature “escapability” he goes with quicker, reliable reads, generally getting WR Hines Ward and TE Heath Miller more involved.
4) What a terrible matchup to come back to on a bum ankle- traveling to San Francisco.
