Lions RB Kevin Smith Returns to Practice Friday- Does not look healthy.

Kevin Smith returned to Lions practice today after re-aggravating the ankle in Week 13 that was initially injured 2 weeks ago in the Thanksgiving game. He gave it a go, but had to take himself out of drills after not being able to cut on a pass route.
Last week he was able to play on the ankle, but left the game early after the re-aggravation.
There are two distinct differences in Kevin Smith’s scenario during this week’s practices and what occurred last week.
1) Last Week, the Lions were coming off a Thanksgiving Thursday game, giving Smith an extra 3 days of rest. This allowed him to draw the start Sunday before getting re-injured.
2) Last Week, he was doing cone drills and cutting on Wednesday and got full work outs in on Thursday and Friday.
Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press was at practice today, and when asked how Kevin Smith looked, he said “Like he has a high ankle sprain” When asked if his gut said Smith would be able to go this week, his answer was “No.”
Lions RB Maurice Morris gets a bump in our rankings with this news. It seems that if Smith does go this week, he is looking unlikely to start.
