Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd has received Senior Bowl Invite

After receiving a tip that Notre Dame’s talented WR Michael Floyd had received an invitation to play in this year’s Under Armour Senior Bowl, we did a little bit of digging to seek confirmation.

After speaking with Notre Dame’s Director of Football Media Relations, Brian Hardin, I can confirm that this is indeed the case.

However, Hardin was still unsure of whether Michael Floyd would be accepting the invite.

“I know he has been invited, but that is where it is right now, to my knowledge. (Notre Dame Safety) Harrison Smith is definitely going to be there, but last I checked, Michael was still figuring some things out.”

When asked if Michael Floyd was weighing his options (regarding suitability of playing in the All-Star game given his current billing as one of 2012′s top WR prospects), Hardin said “who knows” it could be some of that, and he hadn’t spoken with Floyd directly about the issue as of late. He’s going to get some emails off today to the “guy who would know”, and hopefully it is something that they’ll have a better grip on by later this afternoon of tomorrow.
