Kapri Bibbs RB, Colorado State Rams
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 212 pounds
40 yard dash: 4.58 (Pro Day)
NFL Comparison: Alfred Morris

Scouting Notes:

Bibbs isn’t among the bigger or faster backs in this year’s draft, but he’s a special player nonetheless. In his one year at Colorado State, he scored 31 rushing TDs, making him only the third running back in NCAA history to do so (Montee Ball and Barry Sanders were the other two). Bibbs’ special weapon is his superb vision. He’s a patient runner who waits for his blocks and notices the smallest of gaps through which he seems to glide through. Bibbs doesn’t bother much with lateral movement, as he’s an instinctual north and south runner and keeps his legs moving through contact. On the downside, Bibbs hasn’t developed much as a pass protector and he has limited experience catching the ball out of the backfield.

Fantasy Outlook:

Bibbs’ lack of pass protection experience could hamper his efforts at the NFL level. That sort of thing is what kept Montee Ball off of the field last season and countless others in recent memory as the league’s offenses have evolved. Bibbs’ knack for the end zone is uncanny, though, and in a situation where he can have a year or so to learn the position, we could see him develop into a solid 1-b-like option in a committee. He has room to grow through his body and we could see him getting up to 220 pounds without much trouble or sacrifice to his running style.
