Braxton Berrios
Age: 26
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank WR75
Updated Rank WR74
It was hard not to notice Berrios’ box scores this season, as he seemed to be one of the consistent factors in the receiving corps throughout the season. Yes, Elijah Moore was better but that was in stints. Berrios still received a massive influx of targets almost every week, once the season got going and didn’t succumb to the injury bug like many of his teammates. It’s a contract season for the slot-man, a pro-bowler who led the league in return yards(30.4) per game, and he isn’t doing the Jets any favors. Asking for $9 million per year, there’s a strong chance that Berrios finds a new home in 2022, potentially one where his skills will continue to build his fantasy stock. On the heels of a season where Berrios set career highs in targets (65), catches (46), and yards (431), including 4 TDs, his arrow is up enough to boost him over Jarvis Landry, who is 30 and set career lows across the board in Cleveland and may not be retained by the Browns in 2022.
Ke’Shawn Vaughn
Age: 25
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank RB41
Updated Rank RB36
The Buccaneers are unlikely to retain Ronald Jones and perhaps Leonard Fournette this off-season, potentially leaving Ke’Shawn Vaughn as the first man up in the Buccaneers backfield. It would be a boon for Vaughn’s fantasy stock, as he’ll be playing behind an offensive line that was tailor-made to protect the likes of Tom Brady, and with no Brady there, the Bucs can’t afford to not lean on their run game a bit more – especially if Jimmy Garoppolo lands there. Tampa could very well add running back help in the draft, but for now, Vaughn’s stock is on the ascent.
Odell Beckham
Age: 30
Movement: Falling
Previous Rank WR44
Updated Rank WR49
Well, Beckham was slated to be a riser until the unfortunate event that took place at the Super Bowl on Sunday. If you’ve been under a rock for the last 24 hours, Beckham suffered a non-contact injury to his knee after coming out to a dazzling start against the Bengals. He was able to walk off the field on his own, but the extent of his injury is unknown at this point. Beckham seemed smitten with his new team, and the Rams must have felt similarly, as he’d seen consistent targets on the regular since joining up and scored 6 TDs in that time. In fact, he’d surpassed Van Jefferson as the no.2 WR behind Cooper Kupp at that point. Beckham has gone so far as to say that he’s open to a pay-cut to stay with Los Angeles after the season, but emotions run high leading up to the Super Bowl, so I have to take that info with a grain of salt. A lot can change in the off-season, or in the course of a single game in this instance, and we can’t forget that Robert Woods isn’t a free agent until 2026. Should Beckham stick around, and have a successful recovery, he’d be the other outside threat on what would then arguably be the best receiving corps in football. But there’s no guarantee of anything now regarding Beckham’s NFL future, so we have to drop him in the ranks.
