Fantasy Fallout: Week 2
Some Musings From Week 2
Dorian “The Trashman” Colbert, Rosterwatch.com
New Orleans vs Carolina:
- All three Saints running backs are startable.
- So are Jonathan Stewart and Deangelo Williams
- Brandon LaFell should be owned in all leagues
- The Saints defense is a plus match-up for any starting back
Dallas vs Seattle:
- Beast mode is back
- Seattle might have a top 5 defense
- The Seattle coaching staff has big plans for Golden Tate
- Kevin Ogletree had one target. So much for the second coming of Laurent Robinson
- Dez Bryant has been disappointing. Buy low
Washington vs St. Louis:
- Danny Amendola is a PPR monster
- Darryl Richardson, not Isaiah Pead, is the number 2 Rams RB
- The hopes of a Fred Davis breakout season are all but gone
- Alfred Morris has a solid grasp on the Redskins backfield
Baltimore vs Philadelphia:
- Michael Vick is match-up proof
- Dennis Pitta is the tight end to own in Baltimore
- Jacoby Jones is a sneaky sleeper
- Brent Celek looks like a TE1. He shouldn’t be on your waiver wire
Kansas City vs Buffalo:
- Fred Jackson may never start again this season
- Stevie Johnson is too reliable
- Jamaal Charles’ inactivity in the second half was probably due to the blowout
Oakland vs Miami:
- Reggie Bush will have a career year
- Brian Hartline is worth owning
- Keep an eye on Lamar Miller in dynasty leagues
- Buy low on McFadden if you can. Things will get better
- McFadden owners should pick up Mike Goodson
- Carson Palmer is not dependable, rendering his receivers the same
Tampa Bay vs New York:
- Doug Martin owns the Tampa backfield
- Tampa’s defense is worth a spot start in the right match-up
- Hakeem Nicks’ foot is fine
- Eli Manning loves going to Martellus Bennett, especially in the endzone
- Andre Brown looks better than David Wilson right now
Cleveland vs Cincinnati:
- Weeden is going to make it
- Trent Richardson is the real deal. Start him with confidence every week
- Greg Little might actually be worth starting as the Brown’s number one
- If there’s another Bengals receiver to own besides A.J. Green it is Armon Binns
- The Law Firm has found his footing in Cincinnati. Kudos to those who took the plunge
Minnesota vs Indianapolis:
- Kyle Rudolph is a TE1
- Gerhart is only useful as a handcuff to AP
- Jerome Simpson’s return will only make more opportunities for Harvin. scary
- Andrew Luck will be a top ten QB by season end
- Reggie Wayne could be the value of the draft
- We’ll see what’s what with Austin Collie soon enough, but for now, Donnie Avery should be rostered in most leagues.
Arizona vs New England:
- Arizona has a very formidable defense
- Minus Aaron Hernandez, The Pats’ passing game has no focal point
- Watch out for Julian Edelman while Hernandez is out
- Pray that John Skelton returns as the starter for Fitzgerald’s sake
- Andre Roberts might not be a sleeper for long
Houston vs Jacksonville:
- Ben Tate should stay firmly inserted in your flex
- Schaub is an expensive game manager. Need I keep repeating myself?
- Owen Daniels is back
- The only person worth starting weekly in Jacksonville is MJD
Tennessee vs San Diego:
- Chris Johnson may be the fantasy bust of the season. Owners should pick up Javon Ringer yesterday
- Britt looks healthy. The Titans will depend on him out of necessity
- The Chargers’ passing game will flourish regardless of who is in the game
- Meachem and Rivers are not on the same page. He’s getting targets though
Detroit vs San Francisco:
- Make sure Mikel Leshoure is rostered in your league
- Randy Moss is largely a decoy right now
- Frank Gore is a fantasy steal. Good job for keeping the faith in him
- If you have an IDP in your league, make sure Navarro Bowman is not on your waiver wire
