Some brief thoughts on Sunday’s games…

Da'Rick Rodgers– Da’Rick Rogers is getting loads of playing time and knows what to do with it. I like LaVon Brazill too, but Rogers is the most talented of the Colts’ receiving corps. Off field concerns were the reason he went undrafted, and if there’s anything we’ve learned from Josh Gordon, it’s that on field accomplishments are a nice cologne for off field antics.

– T.Y. Hilton, despite his mediocre stat line, is still getting the bulk of playing time and targets for the Colts. With the emergence of LaVon Brazill and Da’Rick Rogers, Hilton should lose some of the attention that he’s been receiving from defenses as we get into the playoffs.

– BenJarvus Green-Ellis looks great, but I’d still rather have Gio Bernard going forward. The Law Firm has been largely TD dependent.

– Matt Flynn did a serviceable job versus the lowly Falcons, but you can’t depend on him for next week. Jordy Nelson is Green Bay’s only reliable receiver with Flynn under center, and the Cowboys have an excellent top corner in Brandon Carr.

– So much for the carries the Falcons claimed Antone Smith would be getting. They seem content to ride their has-beens to an anticlimactic season’s end.

RoddyWhite– Roddy White is racking up catches over his last two games and gets the hapless Redskins next week. Keep him in your lineups.

– Josh Gordon is matchup proof. Trying to defend The Black Anaconda is a fool’s errand.

– Still, teams will try to defend Gordon, so Jordan Cameron should continue to feast throughout the fantasy playoffs.

– Whoever starts in the backfield for Cleveland next week, Chris Ogbonnaya or Willis McGahee depending on his health, will have a field day against the Bears, so keep abreast of the situation.

– Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola are both worth starting in the absence of Gronk, but Shane Vereen will benefit the most.

– Stevan Ridley is out of the doghouse, but he will still share time with LaGarrette Blount going forward.

– Andre Holmes is more gifted, but Rod Streater is the Raiders receiver I would want on my roster during the playoffs. He’s McGloin’s saftey blanket.

– Marcel Reece could very well be the starting running back for the Raiders next week, so a speculative add is well worth the trouble.

Zach Ertz– I said last week to not go chasing Ertz and Celek’s stats from week 13. I hope you listened.

– With inclement weather foreseeable from here on out, running backs will be getting even more run, a la LeSean McCoy. Use your flex spots accordingly.

– It goes without saying that Joique Bell should be owned.

– Daniel Thomas reared his head again this week and went off. He’ll make a sneaky flex play against the Patriots next week, should Miller miss time.

– Charles Clay is still unowned in 30% of leagues, and he shouldn’t be.

– Bobby Rainey had a monster of a day against the Bills, but I still can’t trust him next week against the 49ers.

KirkCousinsPainting– Regardless of who starts next week at QB for the ‘Skins, I wouldn’t start either RGIII or Kirk Cousins next week. Not if my fantasy life depended on it.

– Toby Gerhart is a worth a speculative pick up, even if you don’t plan on using him. You don’t want someone else to hurt you with him should AP not play next week.

– Dennis Pitta would be my first choice if I was a Gronk owner looking for a fill in.

– I said last week that I would consider starting Montee Ball AND Knowshon Moreno. Now, I’m certain that I will in Week 15.

– Peyton Manning is making a point to show people that he can play in cold weather. The arrow is pointing up for Denver receivers without concussions.

– Michael Floyd got hurt at the wrong time of the fantasy season. It’s going to be tough to trust him in week 15.

cordarrellepatterson– Cordarrelle Patterson should be started in all fantasy leagues from here on out, return yardage or not.

– Things aren’t going to get much easier for Zac Stacy. He’s downgraded to an RB2 for the playoffs.

– Keenan Allen bounced back nicely from his shoulder injury against the Giants. He’ll be a solid play next week.

– Ladarius Green will not be. Make sure you draft him next season though.

– I would look elsewhere than to Zach Miller for tight ends. He’s far too inconsistent for playoff play. In fact, Golden Tate is the only pass catcher in Seattle I would consider starting.

– Should Jonathan Stewart sit next week, I still wouldn’t bother starting DeAngelo Williams. The Panthers play the Jets next week.

– Marques Colston continues his late season ascent. It happens every year. I actually think you can rely on him throughout the playoffs.
