In the wake of the most boring BCS NCAA Football Title Game in recent memory, all anyone can think about is A.J. McCarron’s smokin hot girlfriend, Katherine Webb.
Miss Alabama was clearly the winner on this night, picking up over 120K Twitter followers in quick fashion including the likes of Lebron James; a development that McCarron told reporters after the game was “messed up.”
By now everyone knows that Cardinals DT Darnell Dockett engaged in some gratuitous and shameless banter with Ms. Webb via his Twitter account (@ddockett) during, and after the game.
In an awkward late night exchange, McCarron took up for his queen, with a few poignant responses to Dockett about his appetite (apparently for chicken wings), and his absence from the NFL playoffs this season. Lost in the backhanded rhetoric was an interesting statement made by the ‘Bama QB that is bound to raise some curiosity in the world of the NFL Draftnik. He says to Dockett in one of his final salvos,
“Talk to them (Arizona Cardinals) and tell them to get me and I will come help y’all”.
The 2013 NFL Draft class is being universally lauded as very weak at the quarterback position. In a year where rookie passers went bananas in the NFL, you have to think several teams would have an interest in McCarron. He showed in the National Championship game that he can make NFL throws all over the field. We’ve been saying for some time he is no Greg McElroy, he is not a product of the system and has legitimate NFL potential. Teams will drool over his pro-style predigree and in the absence of other top shelf prospects he could easily slide in to the top of the 1st round for a QB needy NFL team.
To this point, McCarron has been clear he is returning for his Senior year, but I believe his performance last night and this Tweet may have opened the door for a change of heart. Miss Alabama would fit right in with the beautiful desert scenery in Arizona.
