PRO MFL10 Value-Finder Tool for 2016 Best-Ball Leagues V.2

Here we’ve created a tool that will help you to find value during your MFL10 best-ball slow drafts at MyFantasyLeague.com. The tool simply lists the player’s name and position in the first column, his MFL10 ADP in the second and his Expert Consensus Rank at FantasyPros.com in the third. The ECR at FantasyPros was attained by filtering only to experts who have updated their projections within the last 7 days.

In the fourth column “raw difference” is the difference in overall ADP and overall ECR rank at fantasy pros. (If a player has an ADP of 50 in current MFL10 drafts but an overall ECR rank of 45, the value in this column will be a “5” indicating positive value by five spots; correspondingly, if the ECR rank was 55 the column would have a “-5” indicating negative value by five spots).

In the fifth column “transformed difference,” we’ve used the transformation of

MFL10 ADP (300 – MFL10 ADP) – ECR (300 – ECR) = transformed difference

The sheet is sorted by this measure.

This transformation shows not the raw number of “spots” of value gained, but how important the value of those spots was. For example, if a player is ranked at No. 79 by Fantasy Pros ECR but has an MFL10 ADP of 59, we know that that players’ raw difference in value is +20 spots.

However, how can we compare that — value-wise — to another player who has a +20-spot raw difference from 39 to 19? The transformation gives descending values to each spot from 1 to 150 in order to give a clearer picture when analyzing value.

NOTES:

* This is not the RW cheat sheet. That can be found in your downloads section.

** These are not RW rankings. Please always refer to rankings and the cheat sheet for critical decisions; this is a tool to aid in your decision-making process for MFL10 best-ball leagues.

*** You’ll notice QBs are largely toward the top of the value sheet which doesn’t mean you should be drafting them early. Rather, it shows that QBs as a whole are drafted later in MFL10s – and which present the best value relative to their respective ADPs.

**** It should also be noted that rookies are always “overvalued” in MFL10s as players on MyFantasyLeague are typically dynasty-centric; while sometimes experts at FantasyPros take a while to really warm up to rookies until they get a better idea of what’s happening through camp. Like with the “positive value” attributed to QBs, we take the typically “negative value” associated with rookies as a simple tool to use in context. If you love Josh Doctson or Ezekiel Elliott, etc. (and we certainly do), don’t be afraid to “reach” for them closer their MFL10 ADP.

    Bro’s
    Question about this tool.
Where does the transformed number come from ?? above it reads that its the ECD – the ADP
but for Delanie (IE) I have no idea where 3840 comes from *( maybe it don’t matter ) ?

    1. It’s just a number that represents relative value in positions gained. Simple transformation formula outlined above.
