PRO RosterWatch End Zone and Goal Line Targets Report: Week 7
Here you can find a new tool we’ve added for the 2017 season. Each week, we will maniacally go through the All-22 tape on NFL Game Pass and chronicle every time a player is targeted in the end zone. Red-Zone targets are a nice statistic, but are not as telling as being targeted in the actual end zone which is clearly a much higher expected-value event. We could not find this statistic available publicly anywhere else, so our solution was to do it for ourselves and for RosterWatch Nation. We hope the database, which will be updated on Thursdays weekly through Week 15, is one you find useful in making your critical sit/start decisions or in projecting player performance moving forward while gauging value for trades.
A few notes:
– RosterWatch considers an end-zone target a target where the player is targeted either in the end zone, or where a reception occurs as a player is entering the end zone. For example, if Corey Coleman leaps in the air from the 3-yard-line and makes a catch in the air outside of the end zone but lands in the end zone, we count those as end zone targets. A goal-line target is one where the player catches a pass inside the one yard line on plays designed to get him in the end zone.
– RosterWatch considers all end-zone and goal-line targets to count even if the play is nullified by penalty. For example, if Rob Gronkowksi is targeted in the end zone and the defender is called for pass interference giving New England a new set of downs at the one-yard line, the end-zone target will still be counted. This is also the case if the play were to be called back due to holding by an offensive lineman or any other penalty. As long as the play was live when the end-zone target occurred, it will be counted.
– RosterWatch does not award end-zone targets to players closest to the ball when a QB clearly is throwing away a football out of the back of the end-zone.
– RosterWatch counts all end-zone targets, including those on two-point conversions. For example, if Alshon Jeffery catches a pass in the end zone for a two-point conversion, he’ll still be awarded a red-zone target. NOT ALL TDs CAUGHT BY A PLAYER WILL BE CHRONICLED IN THE TOOL. For example, if Amari Cooper catches a ball at the 20 yard line and runs it in, it will not be listed. The only TDs listed in the tool are those that occur as a result of end-zone or goal-line targets.

RW.. Drop L. Murray for Collins or Lewis? Thanks for any input.
For sure. Both are better than Murray
Standard Scoring
4-2 record
QB: Russell Wilson
RB: Doug Martin, Alvin Kamara, Buck Allen, Thomas Rawls, Wayne Gallman, Elijah McGuire
WR: Mike Evans, Micheal Thomas, Doug Baldwin, Keenan Allen, Josh Doctson
TE: Travis Kelce
I’m looking to upgrade at RB so my starters can be Doug Martin and a potential RB1
1. Would you trade Alvin Kamara and Keenan Allen for Joe Mixon and Devante Parker? or is that one of those trades where its not clear who the winner is?
2. Ed Dickson and George Kittle are on the waiver wire in my league. Should I try and package Keenan Allen, Buck Allen or Kamara ( just 1 of these) with Travis Kelce to get a potential RB1? Then pick up Ed Dickson or George Kittle to fill my TE spot? If so Which TE is the better season long pick up?
Hey Rosterwatch! Been following you guys since the days on the radio in Austin. Need some help this week I usually go by the rankings but this is a dicey week esp before the trashman flex list. Was planning on Lynch but would like the RW opinion.
Who to flex 10 team (standard scoring):
K. Allen
M. Lynch
J. Mixon
R. Cobb
Thx for the loyal support Gruden- means a ton!
I’d roll Lynch or Mixon. Prob, Mixon based on the touches. Close call, though.
16 team standard 3-3
Do you think I should make this offer: Trade away Jeffery and receive Wentz?
Current QB: Dalton
WRs: Julio, AB, Keenan, Zay, and Ricardo Louis (currently adding Corey Davis from waivers to drop Louis)
Don’t love it, but if your waiver wire is completely and totally dry week to week- it’s a fine deal.
It does improve your Qb spot. Plus I can’t see you playing Jeffery over Allen, AB, and Julio very often.
1pt PPR. Need 1 RB
Martin
McKinnon
Chris Thompson
Check our rankings, prob Martin.
Should I trade Buck Allen, Chris Thompson and a 6th round pick next year for Larry Fitzgerald? 12 team full point ppr. Other RBs: Freeman, McKinnon, Foreman, Breida, Mack and Aaron Jones. WRs: Julio, Fuller, Kupp and Ty Williams. Bit by injury bug with OBJ, Corey Coleman and Olsen hitting the IR, but still alive thanks to the magic of the draft sheet and farming the waiver wire (Thank you Deshaun Watson!)
Seems like a lot for a guy that always falls off in the second half of the season
Premium Roster Watch Member – Go Roster Watch Nation. I’m 4-2.
12 team standard.
Who to start in flex?
Marshawn Lynch
Austin Sefarian Jenkins
Cooper Kupp – opponent is starting Jared Goff
D Jackson
Starting:
D Carr – QB ( starting him over McCown)
M. Thomas – WR
A. Jeffery – WR
M. Gordon – RB
A. Kamara – RB
J. Graham – TE
I’m considering benching Lynch (not reliable) in Flex and starting ASJ, Kupp or Jackson…
Worried about starting too many Raiders.
Thx Rosterwatch Nation.
I went with my gut and benched Lynch…phew
When in doubt trust your gut. That is after you check the rankings
Very close calls according to the rankings. I need the best gut feelings because mine haven’t been working lately.
Alex smith or mariota?
Tevin Coleman or James white in standard?
With Murray now probably out, choose 2 in 1pt PPR: Cohen, Mack, A. Morris, Ivory (I know it’s not pretty)
Someone dropped the Alien today. Pick him up? PPR. I’d have to drop A. Ellington or B. Allen. My RB’s left would be: Freeman McKinnon D. Henry and one of the above mentioned droppables.
Thank you!
Need some help boys! PPR league need TE and flex out of these guys. Evan engram, Austin J, Devin F, Tevin C, Alvin K, or Joe M. Thanks Rosterwatch Nation
Coleman and I will let you decide between ASF and Engram. I lean to ASF.
Mixon should have a great week but I think Coleman might be the safest. He should get a good amount of targets vs the pats. As for TE I would lean towards Engram since he is a target hog. He should get a lot of looks even if Shepard plays. I really don’t think you can go wrong though. Both are solid options
Remember you can always refer to the rankings if you really can’t decide
Best thing I ever did was get this pro membership!
I need some help. I need 1 WR and 1 Flex
Funchess
McKinnon
D Jax
Sanu
James white
Thanks guys you are the best
PPR
I think white has a big week. Specially in ppr.
Dynasty league- 12 team standard scoring. I’m 4-1
trade question-
He offered Dez Bryant $49 for Davante Adams $19 and Will fuller $6. I’m basically buying Dez for a year or two to help put me over the top for chance at a SHIP this year.. is it worth it?
My team
Qb- Cam/Russell Wilson
Rb- Hunt/Mixon/Martin/A jones/D Lewis/McGuire
WRs-Diggs/Benjamin/Adams/Fuller/Emmanuel
Te- Ertz
FYI- he also has Michael Thomas for $23 I could try and trade for?
I like Thomas a little better but getting Dez for Adams and fuller is a solid deal if you really think you can get a championship.
I should say I like Thomas a lot better since it’s a dynasty
Thanks guys for hopping in today and helping out. I’ll answer some PRO questions around 4 pm CST today.
10 team PPR and I need one FLEX
P. Garcon
TY Hilton
C. Thompson
A. Jones
O. Darker
C. Ivory
Going to have to watch the game time decisions like on Fournette! If he does not play Ivory your guy! Hilton has a tough matchup. It might come down between Garçon and Darkwa. Could be a Ouji board call.
thx KW.
Totally stacked team but want to make a move for better wr:
12 team std
Watson
Bell/zeke/hunt/ajayi/coleman
Hopkins/djax/Jeffrey/Shepard/Parker
Asj
I was thinking of doing a ajayi Coleman and Jeffrey to the Michael Thomas owner for Thomas/Mixon.
Fair on both sides? Or am I aiming too high
Fire away and see if he goes for it. I like it.
PPR Trade (2-4)
Trying to consolidate my wrs
Giving: TY hilton
Getting: John Brown and Thompson
RBs: Mixon, A. Jones Foreman
WRs: K. Allen, M. Bryant, Snead, Kupp, Doctson, Mike Williams and Zay Jones
Keep Hilton.
