RosterWatch Week 10 Matchup Tool Now Available

alex bylineWelcome back.

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community.

It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship in-season tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

RW PRO users can download the matchup tool (or access the online tool for use) in the downloads section of their profile by clicking HERE.

DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2019 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow, Vegas indicators, volume of total snaps and much, much, more.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Saints WR Michael Thomas, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look down the list and find the Saints (Thomas’ team). You will see that the Saints’ opponent (OPP) is the Falcons in Week 10, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”

These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the Falcons’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.

They are not the rankings for the Saints, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the FALCONS). In the “OPP vs. WRs” cell for the Saints, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means Thomas faces our best possible matchup for opposing WRs in Week 10 (the FALCONS). This is a great indicator for owners of Thomas, and is a positive one for those thinking of rostering him in DFS contests.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.

With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference. The Vegas lines are updated hourly for your reference and research. Please note that matchup rankings can shift through the week with line and O/U movements as well as injury news.

“1″ is the best (easiest) matchup, “32″ is the worst (toughest).

WHITE: Neutral Matchups

  1. Stafford is available on waivers.
Should I pick him up for J. Allen or Goff?

  2. I would drop allen for him right now.

  3. Wentz or Foles ROS?

  4. I’m a David Johnson/Edmonds/Fournette owner.. I also own Miles Sanders. Would you drop Edmonds or Sanders for any of the guys below?

    McKissic Guice Mattison Penny Armstead

    1. Post By Baron VonIronCock

all of those guys are hurt or on bye …
      Edmonds is who
      I would drop
      for mattison

      1. Agreed, I would drop Edmonds for the Mattison stash.

  5. I’m trying to package Josh Jacobs and a WR for McCaffrey. Here are the WRs I have that I can send with him, would any of them be too much to get the deal done?

    OBJ
    Godwin
    Lockett
    McLaurin
    C Samuel
    J Crowder

    1. Godwin might be too much.

  6. Ravens D or KC D this week? And should I hold the 49s D for ROS.?

    1. Post By Baron VonIronCock

I am holding the pats defence this week … but on those teams I am well ahead of the pack in the standings
I’d probably choose Baltimore of those two d’s

    2. BAL this week. I’m holding SF if I can, I own them in one league and have been playing them regardless of matchup since I don’t want to hold one while starting another.

David Johnson vs TB or Ekeler vs Oak? ppr… starting D. Cook and Singletary

    1. Post By Baron VonIronCock

      Ekeler
      ….SIGH

  8. Have engram and need to come up with a drop for TE this weekend. -who should a dump — Jalen Samuals, Jamaal williams, MIke willims, Marquise Brown, or one of my three QBs — allen, stafford and wentz. thanks

    1. Now hear that Engram has a mid foot sprain and could be out for a while. 1) Should I drop him or one of the guys named above? and 2) should i go for his backup Ellison or Doyle, Ebron, Cook, Graham, jonnu, or Olsen all on waivers

      1. jesus dude is this a one-QB league?!?! If so drop at least one of those QBs and preferably two to pick up a new TE (it should be Olsen for this week) and a get a decent RB or WR stash.

    2. Post By Baron VonIronCock

if this is a one qb league, and you’re holding three
slap yo self upside the head

      drop two qbs

      1. Yea, I know I overloaded with QBs — If I drop one – who is the most likely candidate — Stafford? thanks

        1. oh man, please don’t do that anymore. drop at least Wentz and then check the rankings for who we have ranked higher between Allen and Stafford this week, it’s probably Allen.

          1. Post By Incognito

Thanks for the critique. I appreciate it. But can’t drop Wentz: Philly plays Mia, NYG and Was – weeks 13- 15 And Allen, Has Cleve and Mia next two weeks.

  9. Guice is on the wire in both leagues

my rbs are CMC, Chubb, coleman and chase edmond – drop edmond for guice

    1. Post By Baron VonIronCock

      I would

  10. Gents – trade question to help my week 10 PPR: was offered DJohnson/ACooper for my Conner/Edelman or DHop/Ekeler for the same Conner/Edel. I need RB help this week as my others are Fourn/Drake/Lat Murray/Samuels. If Conner sits, I am good either way. Need to make playoffs – any preference on which? Thanks as usual.

    1. Post By Baron VonIronCock

that one is too hard for me to answer
DJ might be in a 3 headed monster committee

since you have jalen maybe keep conner
and plug something in for this week

    2. no deal with Amari’s new knee issue.

  11. Post By John Hunsberger

Rbs Aaron Jones Chubb Barkley and Royce

  14. Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your help this season. 8-1 Playoff prepping.
Lions Backfield? I’m thinking of dropping Ty Johnson and JD McKissic for Gus Edwards and Tony Pollard on WW.
I am Zeke, Fournette, D Montgomery, Guice, Ballage, Mattison owner. I can play 4 RB on a weekly basis.
Or would you drop Ballage in favor of one of the lions backfield.

    1. Post By Baron VonIronCock

pollard is a must if you own zeke

  15. 10 team, standard scoring league and all WRs on bye except one so dropped my kicker to pick up Curtis Samuel. No one interested in a trade this week so need to drop someone. Thinking it’s between K Hunt, Latavius M or Hyde (rough ROS). I don’t own Kamara.

I did just pick up G Everett on waivers (have Andrews but concerned about him for ROS w/ heavy run emphasis) for run at post season (7-2 record).

Best drop candidate? And I might need to drop C Samuel due to hamstring issue and looking at D Parker/Landry/Pascal so opinions welcome on best WR for this week and potential for ROS. Thanks in advance.

    1. If you tell me you roster 2 QBs in this I”m going to jump off a damn bridge. I’d drop Everett for your kicker over Samuels if you already roster Andrews. And by all means, drop the extra QB if you keep one.

      1. Post By Baron VonIronCock

        Bahahahahaha

    Full PPR…
Manny Sanders, Andrews or Watkins in 2nd flex spot?

    Thanks guys…love the content!

    1. Thank you – Sanders

  17. Post By Rbenne@gmail.com

    Standard scoring need a flex
    Keenan Allen or David singletary

    1. Post By Rbenne@gmail.com

I meant David Montgomery and I also have devin singletary as an option.

      1. we currently have DMont as our RB13 this week and Keenan as our WR11. Given the TD equity for a standard league, I might lean Montgomery, but it is really hard to bench Keenan. Good luck. If it was PPR I’d recommend Allen.

David Johnson or Darren Waller in the flex? 12 team PPR
