RosterWatch Week 11 Matchup Tool Now Available

alex bylineWelcome back. This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch. You can download it as always, or use the new, sortable and user-friendly online version.

It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again.

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2016 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow, volume of total snaps and much, much, more.

RW PRO users can download the matchup tool (or access the online tool for use) in the downloads section of their profile by clicking HERE.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look down the list and find the New England Patriots (Blount’s team). You will see that the Patriots’ opponent (OPP) is the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11 and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”

These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the 49ers) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.

They are not the rankings for the Patriots, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THE GIVEN WEEK (the 49ers). In the “OPP vs. RBs” cell for the Patriots, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means Pats RBs face the best possible matchup for opposing RBs in Week 11 in the 49ers. This is a great indicator for owners of LeGarrette Blount, Dion Lewis and/or James White or for those choosing to roster any of these players in DFS contests.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.

With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference.

“1″ is the best (easiest) matchup, “32″ is the worst (toughest).

  1. Drop crowell or hill to keep rawls? Or cut bait with rawls and keep crowell and hill as back up rbs to Melvin gordon and Lamar miller? Thanks for the help

    1. We’d def keep Rawls. At face value- we’d drop Hill. You should prob look at the upcoming schedules.

  2. M. Thomas k Benjamin d Adams J Howard… pick 2 standard scoring

    1. Please see our final weekend rankings and Trashmans Flex rankings. If were me right now, prob- MT and DA.

  3. Bonuses at 100, 150/200yds receiving, 100,150,200yds rushing

  4. I can’t get the link to work

    1. The link under your profile still says week 10, but if you click it, it’s for this week. Also make sure you are logged in.

      1. Good eye- will fix shortly. Our apologies- yes this is WK 11 that is up!

  5. Good Evening,

Am I crazy for wanting to play Mariota over Brady? I’m concerned that New England may do more running against a very porous 49 run def than passing. Also need 1 RB, 1 FLEX & 3 WRS (1 ppr) from the following: L. Miller, S. Ware, Edelman, M. Thomas, Moncrief & Rishard Matthews.

    Thanks

    1. Since the game is at SF- we think you are safe with Brady. LOVE MM right now and this week- but not sure we should be outsmarting ourselves right now.

Please see final positional rankings on Sun AM and Trashmans flex rankings -if it were me right now Gun2Head:

Miller + Edelman + Moncrief + Michael Thomas – prob Rishard at Flex.

  6. Half point ppr, would you drop C Coleman to get T Hill?

    1. If we needed a play this week, prob so. Long-term prob not.

      1. Nah I was thinking long term. Already have Evans, A Rob, Mike Thomas, and Tate. Thanks for the affirmation!

  7. Devante Parker or Corey Coleman this week – 1/2pt PPR? Am I being too hopeful lthat Parker might finally be healthy and turning a corner?
Would need to drop Ty Montgomery or Jason Witten to pick up Parker (again, after I drafted him originally!). Reed owner.

    1. Think we’d play Montgomery over both, if he’s GTG

    DFS question
Ok Guys between your DFS sheets and my other research I usually manage to plug away with decent scores in DFS . last week I had a 196 pt week, a 177 pt week, and a few 150 ish
Yet I only quadruple my money at best …

I need help, education in contest selection I think !
    like 196 pts in a GPP should get me more than 5 $ ( on a 1 $ game )

What am I looking for in contests cash and Gpp ?

    1. I’d buy into higher dollar, smaller field tournaments. The GPPs aren’t ideal for your situation (although we always recommend getting your lineups into some low dollar ones just in case of a 225 pt+ mega monster). Those are solid scores. I know you are looking for more than 400% return- but if I’m scoring like that every week I’m also buying into way more 50/50s and Double Ups (prob some higher dollar one’s too)

  9. I might need the Trashman on this one. Crowell has been trash the last 2 weeks & he plays on the trashiest team but by looking at the matchup tool he has a great matchup against the Steelers. Do I start him @ flex over Ingram who is spitting with Hightower & has a tough matchup tonight @ Car? Also need 1 WR . Landry @ LA, Coleman vs Pitt, Meredith @ NYG, or Tyreek Hill vs TB. Standard Scoring

    1. Yes- we can’t trust Ingram right now, and the mathchup is horrible on the road, and we hate the potential for a Thurs night swindle. When things are close to even- and this disparity in matchup is this big- let’s roll with the data and take our chances.

Meredith or the TyFreak (if Maclin remains out)

  10. Would it be a good idea to pick up C Mike now that the packers claimed him? Where would he rank in the waiver wire pickups?

    1. Only if you can afford to roster a stash. Would prob have him in the Powell to Perkins range

  11. 10 Team PPR (2 Keeper)
    6-2-1

    [1] QB: Brees
[3] WR: OBJ, Evans, Cooper (C. Coleman, Crowder)
[2] RB: Miller, Gurley (Howard, Hightower, Perkins)
    [1] TE: Walker
    [1] W/R/T: Diggs
    Bench total : (5)

Our league unfortunately runs through week 17 and I’m 1st place but playing the 2nd place 6-4 team this week while the rest of the league if hovering around .500 still so should I drop anyone to stash Jeffery who was dropped?

Other available include guys like Rudolph, Doyle, C-Mike, Powell, Langford, Dixon, Matt Jones, Floyd, T. Hill so what’s my best move here?

    1. Never-mind, Jeffery just got picked up but Montgomery was just dropped so any other add/drop advice would be appreciated!

  12. Where’s the Week 11 MatchUp Tool? Says it’s available but I can’t find the link…?

    1. Nevermind. The spreadsheet is for week 11 but it says week 10.

  13. Who do I start? Winston, Dalton, or T.Taylor

      1. Thanks

  14. Am I crazy to start Rawls over Hyde in ppr league? Lost all faith in him

    1. this week, yes. hyde is SF’s best weapon, assuming he’s healthy.

  15. Half point PPR R. Matthews or M. Thomas?

  16. Guys, I’ve been offered Gronk for Gurley and Maclin. 1/2 pt ppr. My RBs are Martin, Ryan Matthews, Prosise, Perkins and Dixon. I have Rudolph and Ebron at TE. Cooper, Cooks, Moncrief, Cobb and Fuller at WR.

    Do the deal?

    1. i’d stay if you have a winning record. why fix something that isn’t broken, knowing that gurley could explode any week. that being said, if you need a boost i don’t hate it. just know that you won’t have gronk this week, and he might not be effective until the playoffs.

  17. I am already rolling Brees and cooks tonight. And am stuck between Kelvin and Baldwin. Standard

  18. Crazy to start Mariota over Cam this week? I hate Thursday games.

  19. Who would you rather have ROS in a half point ppr Ware or Prosise?

    1. ware, right now. rawls could eat into a lot of prosise’s carries.

  20. Start Henry or Dion Lewis?
    (Freeman on bye)
Or trade Henry for Reddick or possibly Kelley?

    1. i’d make that trade if you can get one of them.

  21. So, with Olsen underwhelming – do we even consider looking for a match up or just roll him out and take what he gives you knowing that it could get back to the big games we saw earlier in the year??

    1. that’s pretty standard with TEs, even TE 1’s, outside of a healthy Gronk. You have to keep him out there.

  22. Hi gents. Need 1 from the following: Rob Kelley, Prosise, Rawls or L. Miller this week? Nonppr
    Thanks!

  23. I’m looking for a new leauge next year. I was offered a trade A.Brown for Hopkins and Miller. I accepted. The commissioner vetoed the trade because 2 hrs later the guy trading me got cold feet. I’m so pissed.

    1. can’t be in a league that vetoes trades outside of obvious collusion, and if there’s collusion, the members must be kicked out.

  24. Looking @ a trade
Give Odell & Devante Parker to Get Jordy & Kelvin
All 4 are late round keepers but I can’t keep odell next year
also have olsen and worried about doubling down on carolina

    thoughts?

    1. If you’re making a run this season you should have Odell as one of your soldiers in his last year with your team.
