RWi RosterWatch Week 15 Matchup Tool

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.alex byline It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

Week 15 Matchup Tool
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Bears RB Matt Forte, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First look at the Bears’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. RBs” cell for THE BEARS’ OPPONENT.

(Forte is an RB, and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Bears are playing the Saints, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. RBs” cell. This is a great indicator for owners of Matt Forte or anyone thinking about utilizing him in their daily-league lineups.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start, sit or pick up off the waiver wire for matchup or daily-league spot-plays.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also weighted averages of separate individual player scouting grades for members of the 2014 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question in Week 15.

Please ask any questions in the comments section below, and good luck in the fantasy playoffs.

If Lacy is out by chance what would be the better option?
Picking up Starks or D. Harris in hopes to get points from his KO returns and the 10 touches he could get spelling Starks?

    1. Lacy looks like a go, so hopefully you don’t have to do either. I’d pick up Starks if I had to choose bewteen those two though.

  2. Standard league pick 2, Tre Mason, Randall Cobb, or Josh Gordon. Thanks

    1. Cobb all day long

  3. matchup tool says panthers def slightly worse vs wr’s than bucs. I have benjamin and evans on my team. I play 2 wr and flex. I will most likely play a rb in flex out of crowell or rashaad jennings.

That being said would you still play evans over benjamin based on matchup tool with andersen starting at qb? In the one game andersen started which I believe was against the bucs he threw the ball constantly to benjamin. Then again andersen probably has better chemistry with guys like philly brown and whoever else is 2nd string wr. However I know mcknown targets evans alot in the redzone.

Of course this is easy decision if you say play both instead of using a rb in the flex. Need your unparalleled advice to make it into my $600 championship. I will have my wife bake her famouse carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and send to you for a win!

    1. I have Evans over Benj for the fact that Evans has Jackson to take some pressure off of him. I’d put Crowell in the flex.

  4. Std league… who do you start this week Big Ben or Mr. Rodgers neighborhood?

    1. It’s a coinflip, but I feel safer with Ben. He’s got a higher floor this week.

I need 2 RB’s and a flex. I’m playing Bell for sure. That leave’s me:
    Crowell
    Ingram
    Herron
    Bernard
to fill the other 2, who should I roll with?
I also have Jordan Matthews as an option, but I have Sanders and Cobb plugged into those spots. Thanks fellas!

    1. I like Crowell and Ingram this week.

  6. Am I crazy for starting CJ2K over Tre Mason this week? Thinking revenge game for CJ2K against a terrible Run defense.

    1. No- it’s a very fair thought- and we would prob do the same things. I am personally considering him over a hobbled Julio Jones or a DeAndre Hopkins with a tough matchup if push comes to shove. Good luck

PPR League: I need to fill a flex spot and I have Vereen, Montcrief, Lee, C. Johnson?

    Thanks!

    1. Can’t go wrong with Lee.

  8. Hi Alex, thank you for your matchup tool – it has been a terrific resource this season.
Do you like Brady (better offense since last meeting w/ Miami) or Cutler (better matchup but lacks important receiving option)? I will be starting Alshon either way – I see double coverage on him, so possibly a lot of checkdown passes to Forte?
Do you like Gordon (Manziel?) or Benjamin (Cam out)? Benjamin has a better matchup, but will his QB get the ball to him? Thank you so much!

  9. Need some sizzle gentlemen! 1 point ppr not sure who to start as my flex.
Josh Gordon or Joique Bell. Was leaning towards Bell but sat on Gordon for 10 weeks just to bench him just doesn’t feel right. Thanks guys.

    1. Bell is the much safer play this week, though I know what you mean about Gordon. Bell will get the bulk of carries in the backfield as well as catch passes.

  10. I’m in the second week of the first round of the playoffs; I’m up 32 points. 1 pt PPR.
    QB- Wilson or Sanchez??

RB 1 and 2:Lacy and Lynch.
    WR1 and 2: A. Brown and Evans
    TE: Olsen

    I need Flex help!
Who do I start @ flex?
Watkins, Crowell, Lat Murray, Stills or Starks.

    Thanks,
    Anthony
