Byron BylineBuilding a championship-caliber fantasy roster requires basic weekly waiver-wire management. We’ve created the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet so that in a just a few minutes a week, our users can make the same expert waiver maneuvers we personally make in our own leagues, throughout the season.

Whether you play in a standard waiver claim format, or in a free-agent bidding system- we’ve got you covered. Read the chart top to bottom, and use it like the Draft Cheat Sheet. It’s not mandatory to go after the very top pick up every single week- use some basic discretion. Insane value can be cultivated through the bottom of the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet over the course of the season.

All players listed on the WWCS are currently on the waiver wire in at least 50% of fantasy leagues across all major formats.

*Our advice is to recycle an average of 1-2 players per week from the bottom of your roster into hot waiver-wire pickups for the current week. This can be accomplished via waivers, or on the cheap as free-agent pickups post-waiver period .

    2 quick questions… would you drop TWest for either Asiata or C Thompson in a Std, 14 team league? Most of the other guys are already owned. I need RB upside with only Ingram, Gore, Ajayi, DWashington and TWest in the fold.

    Second question – I am super deep at WR (Evans, Jeffrey, Cooper, Sharpe, Gordon). Was looking at packaging Gordon and Ajayi for Jeremy Hill? You approve? His schedule gets pretty good after this week vs Denver so thought it was good time to buy low. Please let me know. Thanks!

      Yes- we would- and if we were looking for short-term upside- we’d roll Asiata.

      No- we do not approve. We hate Ajayi- but are tired of crossing our fingers with Hill. And, with Foster gimpy- who knows Ajayi could be just as good as hill for foreseeable future. No way we are trading Gordon before we know more about McCown.

      WWCS represents players on the WW in 50% or more of fantasy leagues. TBenj is not avail in most leagues. Yes, we’d drop Moncrief- and yes, we’d bid on TBenj. It’s gong to take a big bid. We’d keep it between 20-40% of your budget, hopefully the lower side of that if possible.

      We’d consider dropping DWash for Dixon to gamble on upside- but not sure that helps you at all now or next few weeks. Would drop Sharpe for Agholor.- maybe Enunwa. Do not drop Lockett.

      A lot depends on the extent of the Abdullah injury. We’re not sure there won’t be a 3rd back involved in DET. Also not sure DWash is an automatic in the redzone like conventional logic dictates.

      Yes- like them both- for sure. If you can get DWash way cheaper go for it. Don’t consider his situation better than Howard.

      Think in 10 man league you can drop a backup QB- but we tend to agree- we like upside of those guys and would prob not drop in our competitive personal leagues.

      Yes- drop Hurns for Crowell. Crowell should have been drafted.

      You need to own Tevin Coleman at all costs- that should be at the very top of your to-do list
      Riddick is an amazing pick up for Abdullah owners
      You should try to trade Coleman plus another player to free up a roster spot- he can be dropped in 10 man league if necessary
      We like Asiata more than Mickinnon- close call vs Ware / Abdullah

Does your sheet imply that I drop my lowest scorer last week (Mohammed Sanu) to pick up Victor Cruz if possible? Williams is already owned, and I am good at have Anderson, Gurley, and McCoy at RB.

    10 team standard scoring, and 0-2 due mostly to injuries. Someone released Gio and I think I should try to get him off waivers. I’m lean on WRs until J Gordon plays (and IF Browns have a passing game). Who best to drop from my RBs or QBs? I also have Le’Veon, but think I need a win this week or next to not dig myself into a too-deep hole.

    D Henry or Rawls? (think these are must-keepers=Telvin C/C Michael/Zeke/L Bell)

      Flip a coin, impossible decision. Howard prob more upside cuz Langford is mediocre and not a GL back. Booker the clearer path to a definitive role, also with big upside if CJ does down- or potential future value at flex even if not.

      Booker is a more known commodity to us- we scouted him live at Broncos camp. We like his situation, and he also offers you some leverage over the CJ Anderson owner.

      Love that we can tell you are working your waiver wire. Good things in store if you keep it up. That’s a pretty solid lineup , btw.

      Would prob pick up Duke, maybe Sproles. You could use the depth. Rudolph and Tamme should be owned but don’t think you have to drop Julius. We like JT a lot. Any many leagues we own a couple of these three. You might be on to something with Sharpe- but if that were us, we’d plug in DJax all day long. A combo of Cooper – TL – DJax has the type of ceiling that can really pop

      you can if you want- not a mandatory move. We might keep Forseett and Dixon for a while. You don’t own Forte and can drop Powell whenever. No reason to hang on to a backup DEF either, esp since BAL in not an elite option any more.

      If we were you- with Coleman going down- we’d look to pick up 1 or 2 wr. Maybe, 1 WR and 1 RB

    I am a Leveon Bell owner. I have been offered a trade for Demarco Murray to get me Deangelo Williams. I also have Derrick Henry. Should I trade Murray for Williams straight up or try to get something else in a package for murray and Henry. He offered me Barnage and D. Will for Murray and Henry, but I turned that down. I have Delaine Walker at tight end already.

      Tough call. Agree- we don’t care about Barnidge. He’s gone from Barnkowski to Barnfire. The ideal situation is getting DWill and DH starting to go off in his own right or DM going down. Obv, there is no way to predict that- so we see what you’re saying here- does seem like some type of natural fit here. You would love to own Murray and DWill.

      Our feeling- this guy is about to have an almost worthless commodity on his hands after this week. He knows that and is trying to get out in front of it. He also knows almost all of DWills value is to the Bell owner.

      We’d keep Murray- find another deal for something lesser that still gets him something to feel at least decent about or help with a roster need he has.- but don’t go crazy. You’re actually the one with the leverage here.

      If he doesn’t want to do it- don’t sweat it- and offer him peanuts next week or wait until DWill gets dropped in a few weeks and scoop him on waivers.

      Take Sharpe out of equation. We believe Haden will be on Parker, so in this matchup- it’s very hard not to roll out the junkyard dog – Jarvis Landry. That would be our start at the moment.

      Our feelings wouldn’t be completely hurt- if you happen to love Marvin the Martian or Shep this week. All solid option. Make sure and check the Trashman’s Flex rankings if he gets off his ass and puts them up before Week 3 is already over.
