It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

Week 4 Matchup

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Bengals WR A.J. Green, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look at the Bengals’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. WRs” cell for the Bengals’ OPPONENT.

(Green is a WR, and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Bengals are playing the Chiefs, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. WRs” cell. This is a great indicator for A.J. Green and Marvin Jones owners.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics from 2015, but also weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive unit scouting grades for members of the 2015 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question.

    In a 1/2 PPR, would you start Smith Sr., Karlos Williams, Carlos Hyde, or Melvin Gordon at flex? All similarly ranked and all with good to great match ups.

    Is it time for me to part ways with houstons defense and just pick up defenses weekly? Colts, chargers, falcons are available but not sure if they are better than houston.

    Also should i part ways with david johnson? Im weak at receiver and need a high upside stash and dont know if he will be tradeable or if i should stash davante parker, brice butler, or bershard perriman? League is 1 ppr.

    Looking to move Doug Martin.
    Should i hold Martin or try to get a better WR? Where is the value?

      We think actually just had this same question on twitter- seems the market for Agholor is in the Doug Martin range. We think it’s close to fair- still a little much- but we are fine moving on from Martin. What this depends on is the rest of your roster. If you don’t need Martin and could use a bench WR with upside- we are totally fine with it. If you could still potentially use Martin- maybe ur RBs aren’t stacked- we might not do it quite yet

    Full point ppr and 6 pts per rushing and receiving TDs. Need to start one of the following RBs: Shane Vereen, Devonta Freeman, or Justin Forsett. According to the matchup tool, Vereen has the best matchup. However, your rankings as of Tuesday ranked the RBs as Forsett, Freeman, and then Vereen. Who would you start?

      Prob not when it came down to it- but in theory it sounds pretty good- we love Marvin right now- tough matchup for Calvin. Funny thing is, we might like the idea more in standard- the fact that this is PPR we lean towards Calvin prob getting sig more targets than Jones

    In the rankings why do you have Hyde higher than Karlos Williams this week? I have both and am trying to figure out which one to start. Won’t the 49ers go down big to Rodgers & the Packers thereby forcing Hyde’s touches to be diminished? Just thinking out loud.

      LOVE- that RW Nation is asking so many questions about Agholor right now- it warms our heart. What a sharp bunch. This is a close call. Sounds like you don’t need either one, in which case it’s fine if that is your preference. It sounds like you know how much we love Agholor.

      I personally think this is an interesting time to hold Andre Johnson for a couple more weeks while owners are starting to drop him. Again, this depends on what the rest of your roster / wr corps looks like- but currently would be a totally reasonable move

      This is an incredibly close call- Sanders is always a threat for two TDs- it’s awesome you own these three. But, we would roll Cooper out. He’s a beast

      Luckily, if Smith misses some time you won’t have to make this decision for a few more weeks! However, Smith did only come back to earth because of injury.

    A true dumpster fire- is Bortles avail on your wire? I like him this week more than any of those guys!

    I’d likely go Tannehill if not- Kaepernick has history of being a Packers killer but he is incredibly difficult to trust right now
