RosterWatch Week 9 Matchup Tool Now Available
Welcome back.
This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community.
It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship in-season tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.
DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.
The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2020 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow, Vegas indicators, volume of total snaps and much, much, more.
…
INSTRUCTIONS:
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.
Let’s say you own Bills WR Stefon Diggs, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.
First, look down the list and find the Bills (Diggs’ team). You will see that the Bills’ opponent (OPP) is the Seahawks in Week 9, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”
These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the Seahawks’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.
They are not the rankings for the BILLS, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the SEAHAWKS). In the “OPP vs. WRs” cell for the Bills, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means Diggs faces our best possible matchup for opposing WRs in Week 9 (the Seahawks). This is a great indicator for owners Diggs and other healthy Bills wideouts, and is a positive one for those thinking of rostering them in DFS contests.
Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.
With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference. The Vegas lines are updated hourly for your reference and research.
“1″ is the best (easiest) matchup, “32″ is the worst (toughest).

It’s a no-no for Mixon owners to drop Gio, yeah?
I had to drop in to create a roster spot I needed for this week.
Alright, welp…with no Aiyuk, I need help w a flex please
McKinnon
E. sanders
Just picked up Trent Taylor
N. Hines
Ruggs
Thank you
Full ppr
Start 2WR, 1 RB, 1 Flex in PPR:
JuJu
JCrowder
Godwin (iffy finger recovery/mouths to feed)
Hasty,
Gus,
Breida,
I lean the first 4, but you pros tell me!
PPR- Need 2
Montgomery, Swift, Dobbins, Moss, Hasty (not sure they have a WR left, so they might run it 150 times)
Need 1 Flex,
DJ Moore or one or the remaining RBs?
Thanks fellas
Should I trade Johnathan Taylot for Cooper Kupp? I have Kamara Josh Jacobs and Miles Sanders and just got my Lat Murray handcuff, My WR Corps are Ridley, Chark,Parker,Crowder and Tee Higgins.
Am I crazy in thinking about starting Hasty of Zeke this week?
Hasty over Zeke
Covid, injuries, and bye week hell is going to make a rough week. Especially against the top team in my league. PPR Flex options I have are Damien Harris and Leonard Fournette. Are any of the GB/SF guys (Ervin, Richie James, Trent Taylor), Josh Kelley or Darnell Mooney worth a look over either of those?
Is Jordan Reed (or Dwelley if Reed can’t go) a better option in that scrap heap over Jared Cook even if SF basically has no one? Thanks guys, always appreciate the insight!
.5 ppr
Was offered Tannehill for Tee Higgins, my current QB is Tua and the waiver wire is razor thin.
My WRs— Tyreek, Michael Thomas , Golladay, Higgins, Hollywood
It’s a 2 WR league with a flex, so I think Higgins may not even play when my team is healthy and there are some decent WR options on the waiver wire to replace the depth
Hey guys!
Was offered Hunt, Aiyuk and Mike Williams for Zeke, Golladay and Pollard.
My Team:
QB: Watson
RB: Zeke. Edmonds, Gibson, Mixon, Akers, Pollard, Gio Bernard
WR: Ridley, Golladay, Boyd, M. Jones, Lamb
TE: Andrews
Do I trade away golladay for ronald Jones and devante parker?
.5 PPR. I was offered Mike Evans for Justin Jackson. I’m pretty deep at both WR and RB so it really comes down to who will be better rest of the season in my Flex. It’s tough because AB is in Tampa now and we also have no idea if/when Ekeler will be back. What do you guys think?
Injuries and byes are killing me at WR…
…does Marvin Jones Jr move down your rankings with Stafford being out for positive Covid test?
…will Ridley play?? And if he does, is he worth the risk to start?
Good Afternoon,
Trying to access the “matchup tool” for week 9? I do not see it…
Where is week 9s matchup tool?
