RosterWatch Week 8 Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet and Podcast Now Available

Building a championship-caliber fantasy roster requires basic weekly waiver-wire management. We’ve created the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet so that in a just a few minutes a week, our users can make the same expert waiver maneuvers we personally make in our own leagues, throughout the season.

Whether you play in a standard waiver-claim format, or in a free-agent bidding system – we’ve got you covered. Read the chart top to bottom, and use it like the Draft Cheat Sheet. It’s not mandatory to go after the very top pick up every single week – use some basic discretion. Insane value can be cultivated through the bottom of the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet over the course of the season.

All players listed on the WWCS are currently on the waiver wire in at least 50% of fantasy leagues across all major formats.

*Our advice is to recycle an average of 1-2 players per week from the bottom of your roster into hot waiver-wire pickups for the current week. This can be accomplished via waivers, or on the cheap as free-agent pickups post-waiver period .

It’s a good feeling to be a week ahead after adding Tyrone Tracy and Christian Watson on Saturday evening for $0. Also acquired Saquon Barkley via trade. All of a sudden, my team is a contender.

Now that I have Saquon, I want to target Bigsby. Also, Kareem Hunt is on waivers. Who should I prioritize, Bigsby or Hunt? Considering dropping Cade Otton first, then Kyler Murray. What are your thoughts based on the current roster? 12-team, 0.5 PPR, QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLX, FLX, DEF

QB, Joe Flacco, Brock Purdy, Kyler Murray
RB, Jonathan Taylor, Saquon Barkley, Tyrone Tracy, TreVeyon Henderson
WR, Tet McMillon, George Pickens, AJ Brown (IR), Marvin Harrison Jr., Jauan Jennings, Christian Watson
    TE, Jake Ferguson, Cade Otton
    DEF, New England

    1. With Saquon being banged up I would prioritize Bigsby for sure. Nice work with your management.

  2. 10 team Dynasty, 1QB, PPR
    Start: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 FLEX, 1 TE

Record:3-5, on playoff bubble with multiple teams clustered around me

    Situation:
Lost 2 straight despite scoring well. Bad scheduling luck + TE position killing me multiple weeks. Last week started Ertz over Otton, cost me the win.

    Roster:
QB: J. Love, D. Jones, A. Richardson (IR)
    RB: B. Robinson, B. Hall, O. Hampton (IR), B. Allen (IR), K. Miller (IR), B. Smith, E. Wilson, S. Tucker, B. Knight
    WR: N. Collins, E. Egbuka, A. Brown, J. Waddle, D. Moore, K. Shakir, R. Shaheed, T. Horton, D. Mooney, M. Washington, T. Harris, R. Flournoy, J. Palmer (OUT)
    TE: T. Hockenson, C. Otton, Z. Ertz, T. Johnson, M. Mayer

    Questions:
    1. Tank or keep fighting at 3-5?
    2. What specific players should I trade away and who should I target for RB depth?
    3. TE has been a nightmare – who should I target to upgrade and what should I offer?

    1. I would not tank with that team unless you lose two more games then I would try not to win anymore. I would see if I could trade Khalil Shakir to a bad team who might want to be getting rid of older players for a less sexy RB like a Javonte Williams

      1. Thanks! Makes sense on not tanking yet.

On the Shakir trade – Javonte is on a 6-2 competing team, so I would not think he’s available. A 2-6 team has D’Andre Swift and RJ Harvey. Another 1-7 team has Tyler Allgeier and Ashton Jeanty.

Would any of those work for Shakir, or are there other RB targets you’d suggest I go after?

And on TE – just ride with what I have and try to nail the start/sit each week (seems impossible)

  3. Standard score leauge, Travis hunter and Christian Watson are in waivers. The guys at the bottom of my lineup, Deebo Samuel, Tet McMillan, and Kayshon Boutte. Any of them worth the drop for Hunter or Watson?

    1. I would personally rather have Watson than Boutte, especially as a deeper bench player.

  4. Would you drop either Kyler or Dart for Purdy?

    1. Hard to say because we don’t know if Kyler is playing this week but if he plays DAL, I”m playing Kyler.

  5. Start sit

I have Penix and London or I can start Pittman as he has Jones

Better to stack or Neutralize any Jknes passing TDs?
