You can’t help but think of the Patriots running backs when you breakdown Aaron Green. He’s not going to shed many tackles or generate much YAC, but he’s a good receiver out of the backfield- and has one cut ability to get up the field as a runner. While his long speed is questionable, he is capable of producing short quick bursts. TCU split him out wide as a true WR in some formations.
Green was a menace to opposing Big 12 defenses, and a player who teams would go out of their way to account for during preparation for TCU. One source told RW that the Texas Longhorns spent their week of preparation for TCU focused on Green, with a scout team player wearing a black No. 22 jersey. This is the same treatment the team gave only two other opposing players in the 2015 season – OU WR Sterling Shepard (who will also be at the Senior Bowl) and Notre Dame stud wideout Will Fuller.
Based on the film, it certainly appears we will be considering Aaron Green in our DFS lineups at some point over the next few seasons. We’ll be watching closely to see if his play in Mobile supports the notion.
