Steelers: Is Jonathan Dwyer a Feature Back in 2013?

Jonathan Dwyer may be expected to carry a significant amount of the workload in Pittsburgh should the Steelers not elect to add a veteran running back in free agency or use a relatively high draft pick on the position in 2013.
Here is a rudimentary graphic representation of how Dwyer stacked up versus some other notable RBs in metrics meant for giving a picture of elusiveness—something any truly game-breaking running back needs. I will note that he is good in yards after contact, as the graphic below shows, but that seems to be because the he’s horrible in missed tackles.
Dwyer is the type of running back who can take what the defense gives him, lower his shoulders upon contact and drive for an extra few yards every time as he’s going down. The tape shows it and the stats show it. It will be tough to depend on Dwyer regardless of how intriguing he may seem as a prospective mini-bus in Pittsburgh.
The stats also show that C.J Spiller, as we’ve seen—is damn elusive. I’m sure Bills mafia is absolutely giddy that they finally have a coaching staff in place that is almost guaranteed to feature Spiller in all sorts of productive ways.
