Texans Pass on Orton, Confident in Leinart?

Dorian “The Trashman” Colbert, RosterWatch.com

I’m not sure if the Houston Texans not taking a flier on QB Kyle Orton is more a slight to Orton or a vote of confidence for Matt Leinart. Honestly, I think it has more to do with the fact that the Texans are a confident running team. Some see Leinart as a huge drop-off from Matt Schaub, but Schaub has only had two games over 300 yds this season. He has served as more of a game manager than gunslinger, and Leinart should be able to fill that role sufficiently. If San Francisco can do it with Alex Smith, I don’t see why it won’t work with for Texans, who have an even better running game. As for Orton, only time will tell where he ends up.
