Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 11
Take your mind off the state of affairs in the world for a bit to focus on another regular source of anxiety – fantasy football. Here are some of my thoughts going forward to Week 11…
Packers @ Titans
- It’s a little difficult to say, with the Pack getting down 21-0 early, but it looks like the Montgomery experiment may be close to over. Starks is back as the lead ball carrier, and GB has more WRs than they know what to do with.
- With a dominant run game in place, Mariota is getting the breathing room to pick suspect secondaries apart. He’s got Indianapolis and Chicago up next, so ride him to the playoffs – don’t plan on having him in week 13 though, as Tennessee has a very late bye-week.
- Henry remains a handcuff with little standalone value behind Murray, even with 9 carries Sunday.
Vikings @ Redskins
- McKinnon led the backfield in snaps, but Asiata had more carries and the goal line action. Hillman took what was left. Asiata is the only one worth owning in 12 team or fewer leagues.
- As the Vikings continue to struggle, Bradford is targeting Diggs and Rudolph with abandon, leaving little else for the other WRs. Patterson maintains appeal mainly in leagues that offer points for return yardage.
- Garcon led all Redskins in receiving and targets with Jackson out of the picture, and though his ceiling is limited, he is worth a look in week 11 against Green Bay’s woeful secondary.
- Fantasy viable over the last 4 games, Davis makes for a reasonable play in deep leagues this for Week 11.
- Kelley’s hold on the starting RB job is tightening every week. He’s nothing special, but he keeps his feet moving forward and rarely loses yards. Jones is droppable in most formats.
Bears @ Buccaneers
- My bad in thinking Cutler could have a decent day against the Tampa defense. Now that Alshon is gone for 4 games, I have even less hope in him than usual. He’s not worth streaming.
- Meredith and Miller will get bumps with no Jeffery around, but don’t forget about Eddie Royal. He has a rapport with Cutler that Meredith lacks.
- Don’t be fooled by Barber’s stat line. 11 of his 12 carries came with the game in hand. Martin is the workhorse.
- Brate is tied for the lead in tight end TDs on the season. He’s worth starting every week.
Chiefs @ Panthers
- I’d rather own Hill than Maclin, even when Maclin comes back.
- All Panther WRs are in play this week against the Saints. I especially feel like Ginn is due. He’s been getting considerable targets for the past several weeks.
Falcons @ Eagles
- With 50+ yards and 3 TDS in as many weeks, Gabriel is worth streaming in plus matchups. This week may not be one of them upcoming in Week 11 though, as the Falcons will face the Cardinals.
- Just when we thought Sproles had taken over the Philly backfield, he got only 2 carries in week 10. He did lead in snaps though, and should stay heavily involved on most days.
- Mathews had been left for dead by many coming into week 10, before ripping up the Falcons on the ground. They got the win, so it’s likely he remains the starter against Seattle this week, though the game plan may lean Sproles.
Rams @ Jets
- Gurley has been stymied for much of the season with Keenum under center, but he has nice matchups for the next 2 weeks with Miami and New Orleans on the slate. He’s one to target if you need a push to get into the playoffs.
- Something is terribly wrong when Marshall isn’t the leader in targets for the Jets. Hopefully Petty isn’t the QB in week 12. He’s killing Enunwa’s value too.
- Robbie Anderson is starting to gain momentum in the Jets’ offense. More of a red-zone presence than Enunwa, he could come to fill Decker’s role.
Broncos @ Saints
- Though there were rumors that Bibbs would have a much larger role in week 10, Booker out- touched him 26 to 7 and remains the big dog in Denver for the time being.
- Thomas finally disappointed against a big Denver secondary. He’ll bounce back, but his fumbles in this one are troubling. Editor’s Note: he’s going to feast Thursday night at Carolina.
- Snead’s 2 scores were his first since week 2. He still gets heavy targets in the Saints offense, so he’s worth streaming most weeks. Just don’t expect a high ceiling.
- Ingram only out touched Hightower 13 to 10 after a huge week 9. This is a full timeshare folks.
Texans @ Jaguars
- Miller may not be fully healthy yet. In the meantime I like Hunt more than Blue to be the back to own should Miller have a setback this week.
- Ivory is back to a timeshare with Yeldon it seems, though the Jaguars abandoned the run in this one when the fell behind. I still like Ivory more for the goal-line factor.
Dolphins @ Chargers
- FInally, a big day out of Parker. Apparently, Tannehill liked what he saw out of DeVante during practice last week and that built some confidence in him. Hopefully it carries through to week 11.
- Inman is worth another start if Benjamin can’t come back after the bye. 9 targets is nothing to sniff at.
- Henry scored the TD to salvage his day, but he had only 2 targets on the afternoon. Play him at your own peril.
Cowboys @ Steelers
- Elliott could be the second coming of Emmitt Smith, though he’s bigger and faster. I make the comparison regarding his lack of injuries despite heavy usage.
"That's a dime." https://t.co/e2l98rXWdm
— Alex Dunlap (@AlexDunlapNFL) November 14, 2016
- Hopefully Dak has ended the chatter of the staunchest Romo apologist by now. He’s the future of the franchise, and he’s more than a game manager as some have accused him of being.
- Green appeared to have no setbacks in week 10 and has a great matchup with Cleveland this week. The Steelers don’t have much else behind Brown and Bell in the passing game.
49ers @ Cardinals
- For the second week in a row, Patton led the 49ers in targets. That being said, he’s still just a dart throw against the Patriots this week.
- Hyde didn’t do much, but he saw more than double of Harris’ carries and should relegate him to bench fodder again.
- Nelson balked under his new starting role. He’s more fitted to a 3rd WR, situational role where he can take people by surprise. I guess Floyd’s back on the radar, but I don’t trust him against Minnesota this week.
Seahawks @ Patriots
- Leading the Seahawks in rushing and receiving, Prosise is turning into the tour de force I always imagined coming into the draft. He should maintain a prominent role in the passing game, even when Rawls returns.
- Speaking of which, Rawls should be back this week (according to lying Pete Carroll), and Michael has done nothing to keep him from regaining first two down back status.
- It’s still unknown whether Gronk punctured his lung or not, and I don’t expect much help from the Patriots in clearing that up anytime soon. It is likely he’ll miss week 11 though, making Bennett a must-start.
- Lewis was likely held out for non-health related issues. He’s probably just getting his conditioning back. Either way, Blount will stay heavily involved for the near future.

Dang it trash man, I needed you to solidify that I can finally trust Baldwin again.
LOLOLOL, he’s so disgusting! I think you can take solace in that idea that Baldwin goes as Russell Wilson’s mobility goes. Let’s see how this unfolds.

Long time no post –
I have been in recluse, hiding from my busted @ss fantasy seasons, and hopes and dreams of what could have been.
Consider this post my 1st step to healing. a forum to vent.
1st this isn’t a b*tch session on the advice I attained, not at all.. more or less a sound board for me to express my frustrations.
I joined 11 leagues this yr ( plus my 3 dynasties )
many of my leagues, I was pounding my chest after the draft… I had teams that started like :
Gurley – AP – cooper and keenan
Gurley – freeman – keenan – McCoy
Hopkins – Arob – McCoy – kelvin
Ugh – right ?
yeah
So in all but 2 of these leagues I got the pick 4-5- or 6(once)
Gurley was available in e-v-e-r-y S-i-n-g-l-e one
What kind of luck is that ? to have the same draft position every single time ?~?!
So I wound up with almost identical teams ..
Talk about taking the fun out of a draft !
Now I cant blame RW for the gurley advice ! heck I cant name you one expert who didn’t have gurley as a top 3 back. I certainly can’t blame RW for keenan, anyone who does is a moron.
in that 1st quarter before the Keenan injury he was the leading receiver in the NFL. *(or close to it )
Someone told me I drafted poorly and that’s why I was 2-8 in one league, um ..no .. . I lost my 1st – 2nd and 3rd round picks. One to the rams and the others to injury.
in fact in many of the leagues where I used a 1st or 2nd pick on Hopkins, AP – or gurly *(actually lets call him Todd GIRLY) I have close to 500 records, thanks to the advice of RW, I picked up McCoy , DEMARCO *( I own 7 shares of him).
Not to mention in my early drafts where RW had cheatsheets out and the rest of the field were just getting off of summer vacation, I was picking up McCoy in the 5th round. It was only late august when the rest of the experts caught on to McCoy !
So needless to say, I am plugging away with most of these leagues, but my two leagues where I was pick 10 or 11 – I am 7-3 !
So thanks RW
and next year when I draft off of the cheatsheet again, If I get stuck with 75% of leagues having the same draft position, I think I will diversify my pick portfolio by moving the odd pick down one or two spots..(max)
Now time to win some DFS fat cash
That’s bad break after Bad Break BVIC, almost unexplainable – the next season will bring you better luck I’m sure.
At least it looks like Gurley’s schedule will pick up in the next few weeks if you still have a shot in a league or two.
and yes let’s MAKE THAT MONEY in DFS sir.
Great work grinding Baron! It’s time to show those league-mates the Iron Cock down the stretch.
Just another Tuesday morning trade conundrum should I send Allen Robinson packing for Cobb and Michael Thomas. This is MESSAGE BOARD GOLD. Is this… a good idea?
Thomas has a very lax schedule rest of the season while Robinson has two soft games followed by hell. Cobb’s schedule is so so but that offense is unpredictable and a mess. I am a packer fan and live in the state and can tell you I really have no interest in that offense unless you are Jordy or Rodgers. When you don’t have to worry so much about a run game you can cripple the packers. They obviously seem like they are willing to do a two for one so I would keep Thomas and ask maybe for someone a little more reliable than Cobb.
agree with a lot of this, I think I want Michael Thomas possibly more than Robinson right now. I might take the deal especially if I’m thin at WR – as mentioned above, I see Cobb as the throw-in here.
12 Team Standard (Record: 4-6)
Woo hoo pulled off a win this week thanks to my trade for Bell! Also thanks Alex for that great call on the Texans defense!
[1] QB: Prescott (Rivers)
[2] WR: Cooper, M. Thomas (Hopkins)
[2] RB: Bell, Miller (Crowell, Henry, Rawls)
[1] TE: Rudolph
[1] W/R/T: Howard
Bench total: (5)
7th place now and hoping to win out but got another tough matchup against the 2nd place team this week so trying to get my lineup right. Should I be dropping Rudolph for Bennett this week (if I can claim him) or drop someone else? Also stick with Dak vs. BAL this week while Rivers is on bye or drop Dak to start Tyrod @CIN instead?
Am I dropping C Mike or C Coleman to pick up Prosise this week? My RBs are suspect…T Coleman, C Mike, Sproles, Howard, and Crowell. I’ve tried trading for an RB, but no one wants to budge….probably because I am 8-2 with 2 games up on everyone (thanks for that by the way, lol).
I really wish I had dropped C Mike for Prosise Sunday morning, but hindsight is 20/20. If I do drop one of those guys to pick him up, how much of my $23 FAB am I using to get him?
Still in third both leagues, thank you! I’m wondering, should I look to trade or use the #4 waiver wire for a FA wr2 or other listed below?
My WRs- Benjamin, A. Brown, D. Adams, and M. Thomas.
My rbs- Girley, Gordon, Ware, Coleman, Perkins, Rawls, J. Howard
my TE is Ertz.
Best FA’s
Procise
Tate
R Matthews
Meredith
Doyle (could get w/out spending #4)
L Green (same as above)
Brate (same as above)
Qb- Rivers (can drop, my backup Winston and block other teams)
I like prosise more than Perkins and both Doyle abs brate more than ertz consistency wise. Nibble are necessary though. I’d probably get my hands on prosise
Hey guys, long time listener of the show and only recently begun to post on the message board.
I’m in a league with a very unique scoring system: it is HEAVILY dependent on length of touchdowns. Essentially, TDs are 15 points for anything under 21 yards. Every ADDITIONAL 20 yards results in an ADDITIONAL 15 points. Therefore:
1-20 yards: 15 points
21-40 yards: 30 points
41-60 yards: 45 points
61-80 yards: 60 points
81+ yards: 75 points
Based on this, would you start Manning or Carr this week? I’m leaning Manning due to the Bears secondary being substantially worse than the Texans. However, I am worried if the Giants get a big lead, they will just run the ball. If Jeffreys wasn’t out, I would undoubtedly play Manning because I would be confident Chicago could keep up the scoring. However, this is not the case. Please give me some advice on which route you would go and why.
Thank you!
I like carr. he’s proven he can be productive against the best defenses. Manning is too up and down for my tastes, regardless of the matchup.
week 11 cheatsheet ??
hey, just fyi that taylor gabriel is on bye this week!
Better TE add for this week, ROS: Jack Doyle or Vernon Davis?
i think doyle’s floor will be highger, with similar upside.
Season long standard – Having a great year, 10-0.
My RB’s are DJ, Murray, Blount and Ajayi. Should i use most of my waiver funds ($39) to p/u Prosise? Or save most of it incase its needed later.
i’d hold. it’s hard to tell how much rawls will eat into his carries.
Hey,
My league has a super flex and has dampened QB scoring. Its
1 point per 33 yards
4 points per TD
-2 per turnover
I have Brady, Luck and Mariota. Which 2 should I start?
i’d go brady, mariota. mariota’s yardage on the ground is a boost.
Thx!
I have Vikes D, should I p/u either Giants or Dolphins?
Trade question. PPR I was offered Hyde for Landry. He also has L Murray and Miller. Should I trade for Hyde or ask for others or do nothing? I’m solid at WR and weak at RB. 5 player keeper league.
Season long standard – Playing DJ and Murray, need to play 2 WR’s and a flex from ARob, Cooper, Cooks, Diggs, Blount and Ajayi.
Trashman: Is Thomas Rawls worth a late 2017 first rounder in 12 team dynasty? I start brees/gore/yeldon/AJgreen/hilton/diggs/gronk/ and garcon or asiata or lee at flex. (RW turned me onto yeldon and diggs my first year subscribing, 5th and 44th overall picks!) I own Peterson, but don’t see him being back in time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
