Trashman’s Garbage Grab Bag: Week 6

Trashman’s Garbage Grab Bag: Week 6

The hits just keep coming, but that doesn’t matter because we’re resourceful and fearless, or at least we give off that impression. This week’s grab will have your opponents wetting themselves either with palpable fear or unquenchable laughter…

Wide Receiver

Diontae Johnson, Steelers (27% owned): Johnson stayed involved even when Devlin Hodges took over for Mason Rudolph after he was concussed last week, so that gives me hope for Johnson this week, especially since James Washington is out.

Auden Tate, Bengals (23% owned): Tate just missed out on a score last week, and he’ll be on the field for most of Cincy’s offensive plays in Week 6. He’s up against a surprisingly porous Ravens secondary in this one.

Preston Wiliams, Dolphins (18% owned): Our favorite Dolphin is back to bust open a play or two against the beatable Redskins secondary – Only one fantasy team has given up more points to WRs this season.

Keke Coutee, Texans (16% owned): Coutee is only really viable if Kenny Stills sits, but if he does, Coutee could really shine in a game with K.C. that projects to be a shootout. He had season highs in catches(3) and yards(72) last week.

Byron Pringle, Chiefs (15% owned): Pringle was one of my favorite preseason talents two years ago, but he never amounted to much until he blew up last week. If Sammy Watkins can’t go, Pringle is worth a look – even if Tyreek Hill returns.

Willie Snead, Ravens (6% owned): Snead looks like the no.1 in Baltimore while Marquise Brown is out. He doesn’t have a ton of upside, but he’s worth a look in PPR formats. If Snead is gone, Miles Boykin has a shot to make a fantasy dent too.

Quarterback

Teddy Bridgewater, Saints (20% owned) : Teddy is coming off the best fantasy game of his career last week(26/314/4/1) to face a (very likely) Jalen Ramsey absent Jaguars team. Alvin Kamara is hurt, so even if he does play, the Saints are going to have to lean on the pass this week.

Running Back

Ito Smith, Falcons (20% owned): Smith was only out touched 41 to 33 snaps by Devonta Freeman last week, and he gets the soft shelled Cardinals defense in Week 6.

Latavius Murray, Saints (50% owned): Murray is owned in half of leagues, but he’d be a borderline RB1 if Alvin Kamara can’t play Sunday, and Kamara didn’t practice on Friday, so that’s not a good sign for him.

Darrell Henderson Jr., Rams (26% owned): Malcolm Brown is probably owned in your league – check first – so Henderson makes for a nice consolation prize instead. Henderson probably won’t get the touches that Brown gets, but he’s a shifty, pass catching back so he’s going to have opportunities to make some plays.

Mark Walton, Dolphins (3% owned): Walton is more of a wait and see guy, but the Dolphins like him and neither Kenyan Drake nor Kalen Ballage is doing much to keep him off the field. If you’ve got a deep bench, he’s worth an add.

Chase Edmonds, Cardinals(36% owned): David Johnson is on the good side of questionable it would seem, but he’s a certified game time decision, and anything could happen. Edmonds would be a plug and play RB2 with upside should Johnson sit.

Tight End

Darren Fells, Texans (3% owned): Fells isn’t being inundated with targets, but he’s scored three times in the past two weeks, and he out-snapped Jordan Akins in Week 5. Pair that with a high-flying matchup with the Chiefs and you have a decent streaming option at TE.
