Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 5

We hit big last week, and I want to keep it up. These filthy fantasy fixes are well worth a spot play in deep leagues or dailies.

Trashman 750

Allen Robinson WR, Jaguars: Robinson is going to be thrust into the spotlight in Jacksonville whether he’s ready for it or not, as neither Cecil Shorts nor Marqise Lee is looking good for week 5. He’ll be the possession receiver in an offense that looks a lot better with Blake Bortles at the helm, and he’s only owned in 13% of leagues.

Antone Smith RB, Falcons: Who leads all NFC south running backs in fantasy points in standard leagues? You guessed it, Antone Smith. Right, well his average yards per carry is unsustainable as his ridiculous FP/touch baseline, but he’s managed to produce every game this season. I don’t know when the other shoe will drop, but he looks like the Falcons’ best back, and they would be foolish to not get him more regular carries.

Brian Hoyer QB, Browns: Hoyer hasn’t been putting up huge numbers this season, but he also has been hurting you like a Tom Brady has. He hasn’t thrown an interception all season, and he has Jordan Cameron back this week. I like his chances against a reeling Titans defense.

Isaiah Crowell RB, Browns: I know Crowell isn’t trashy, but he’s still only owned in less than 35% of leagues, so I had to put him in here. He’s the best running back in Cleveland, and with Ben Tate deeming himself questionable this week, he should be owned and even flexed.

Jordan Matthews WR, Eagles: Matthews didn’t do much last week after his two TD Week 3, but he’s getting consistent targets and he’s a red-zone threat every time Philly gets past the twenty yard line. He’s only owned in 30% of leagues.

Darrin Reaves RB, Panthers: Hey, he’s the lead back in Carolina right now. I’d never heard of him before, but that doesn’t matter. It could be his one week to shine, and what better matchup than the Chicago Bears.

Kenny Stills WR, Saints: Stills has been getting more action recently, and the Buccaneers are the worst team in the league against the pass. I see at least a couple big Brees to Stills hookups this week.

Clay Harbor TE, Jaguars: Harbor caught all 8 of his targets last week for 70 yds, and he seems to be a favorite of Bortles already. He won’t light up the score sheet, but he’ll do fine as a bye week or injury fill in.

Garrett Graham TE, Texans: The Cowboys are giving up the most points to TEs, and though Graham has been used primarily as a blocker to this point, the Texans will look to exploit Dallas’ weaknesses which aren’t many right now. If there is one week to use him it’s this one.

  1. Ppr league… Gates or ertz

  2. is cj(no-td, no-yards)2k worth a roster spot over nabbing t. williams DAL ( have cj2k, r.bush, z.stacy, t-rich and bentate) only start 2 rb’s non-ppr. Have WR tate, julio, kelvin benjamin, fitz and Josh Gordon) just trying to snag someone before it’s toolate here

    1. I would go with Williams or Beckham over CJ

  3. also considering odell beckham jr as an add
