Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 8
Stand back! Hazardous materials are coming through! The garbage this week borders on chemical waste, but they are just volatile enough to set off an explosion in your lineups. Proceed with Caution…
Quarterback
- Brock Osweiler, Texans: This is the only week I’d condone this, but Detroit has given up the most points to QBs this season, and their best defender, Darius Slay, is out. This is for streaming purposes only, mind you.
Running Back
- Rob Kelley, Redskins: There’s no Matt Jones this week, and though Chris Thompson will get his fair share of action, Kelley stands to get early down and/or goal line work
- Peyton Barber, Buccaneers: Barber did damage last week in relief of Rodgers, and he actually fits the mold of a lead back better than Quizz. The Bucs may start using him more often to keep Rodgers fresh, as Martin’s return is not imminent.
- Kapri Bibbs, Broncos: Bibbs is next in line behind Booker for carries, and we’ve yet to see Booker carry a full load. I’d want to own Bibbs if I was a Booker owner regardless if I was going to take a chance on him this week. As is, he might get a few series against San Diego who caves to the run.
- Alfred Blue, Texans: Blue is about as uninspiring a play as it gets, but if Miller can’t go for some reason, he’d be a decent play in any format.
Wide Receiver
- Adam Thielen, Vikings: Thielen bested Diggs last week in production on the same amount of targets, so I think he’ll remain involved in the offense despite Diggs’ presence. He could have an even bigger day if Patterson can’t play due to a concussion. The Bears are arguably the worst team against the pass in the NFL.
- Brandon LaFell, Bengals: LaFell has been a TD machine over the last few weeks. This could be the last game he’s a primary red-zone target before Eifert gets back to full speed.
- J.J. Nelson, Cardinals: Should Floyd sit out this week, Nelson would play in three wide sets against a Panthers secondary that is a ghost of its former self. He only needs a couple of major plays to make your fantasy day.
- Justin Hunter, Bills: The Bills could be down to Hunter and not much else if Woods can’t go this week. The Pats shut down your best weapon, which is the running game for the Bills, so Hunter, although not of sound hands, could get a lot of opportunities this week. They’re likely to be playing from behind much of the game too.
- Russell Shepard, Buccaneers: It was Shepard, and not Shorts, who got the bump in snaps after the loss of Jackson on the outside. The Raiders are particularly easy to pass on, so Shepard should stay serviceable this week.
Tight End
- Jacob Tamme, Falcons: The Falcons will look to expose Green Bay’s weakness to the tight end in what should be a shootout. Tamme will have his best chance in weeks to produce.
- C.J. Fiedoworicz, Texans: I guess I’l take Fiedo out when he stops getting 7 targets a game or becomes owned in more than 35% of leagues. Until then…

Trashman!!!
So, few questions in ppr based off my love for the garbage grab:
Gilleslie or Peyton Barber
Quincy Enunwa or JJ Nelson if Floyd sits
Thanks man
Gilleslie based on volume.
Quincy but check the weather. Looking like a mud bowl in Cleveland.
Jonathon Stewart or Mike Gillislee? 1 ppr
Gillislee. He should have 4+ catches.
Awesome, Trashman! I know this Q isn’t that smelly, but who do you like in my flex- Jon Stew, Moncreif, Mereidth, Gillislee, or Prosice? PPR 1 point per 5 carries
1 point PPR. Need to start 2 of the following 3 WRs. Kelvin Benjamin, Julian Edelman, and Dez Bryant.
With Montgomery out….
Janis or Sanu?
Or tyrell Williams since talib is out?
Looking to come out of the trash heap smelling like roses, but Montgomery being out is not helping. ppr league. I have Jordan Howard on the bench or could pick up Don Jackson or Terron Ward off waivers. Which one has the best chance to pop. Thanks!
In a tough spot. Down 15 pts a had Julio Jones, Tyrell Williams, Davante Adams, and Cam Meredith. Losing 1 pt. Considering dropping Meredith for C Patterson or Adam Thielen. Need over 1 pt standard to win. Thoughts?
Julio, Ty, Adams got me within 1 pt
Thielen has been the most consistent. I think any of those guys should get over one point though.
Thanks to rescoring on defense… I am now down by 5.2 pts LOL. Thank you for the advice… I am thinking of Thielen as well.
I got Brady on the bye and can sneak one of these off waivers before tonight’s kickoff to save some waiver cash to stream next week:
Bradford v Det, Kaep v NO, Tannehill v NYJ
I’m leaving Kaep because of the rushing floor, what do you guys think?
i’d go for them in that order. Kaepo being the upside pick.
I’m gonna drop Knile Davis for either Hightower or Carey. Maybe even barber or west for the week. Anyone have a problem with that? I feel we have a good sample size of Greenbays run game, any thoughts appreciated…
It should be for Hightower for sure.
This is sooooooo garbage that I took this advice and started JJ Nelson in my season long league. I’m now 8-0.
Hey, got an offer to get Gurley and have to give up Booker, go or no go? I have Gordon and Forte but Forte may be leaving to obtain AJ Green.
Nice work, hold onto him. I’d probably do it. Booker is a little banged up, and Anderson will return eventually. Gurley has no competition.
Considering making a trade and giving away greg olsen and Christine Michael for blount? I have jimmy graham and want to beef up my running backs. I have zeke currently and ty Montgomery and that’s all I have at rb. Thoughts on the trade?
Demarco owner…
Is J Howard too much for Henry?
His value is tenuous, but you can get more for him I think.
