Trashman’s Week 1 Garbage Grab

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 1
Hopefully it’s too early in the season for you to need these guys, but he they are just in case. Take a long whiff….

Running Back
Evan Hull, Colts – 6% rostered
No Jonathan Taylor or Zack Moss means it’s up to Deon Jackson and Evan Hull to fill in the gaps. Jackson is owned in quite a few leagues, but Hull is still relatively unowned and could be heavily involved in the passing game.

Kyren Williams, Rams – 3% rostered
Williams is rumored to be the 3rd down back on a team that projects to be playing from behind most of the day. With no Cooper Kupp and a cruddy O-line, Williams could see enough dump offs to warrant fantasy consideration.

Wide Receivers
Van Jefferson, Rams – 34% rostered
Jefferson steps into the no.1 receiving role for the Rams with Cooper Kupp on IR, making him viable in all formats for the foreseeable future.

Jayden Reed, Packers – 10% rostered
Christian Watson is out WK1 and Romeo Doubs is questionable, making Reed the safest bet of the Packers WR corps this week. A talented rookie, Reed has the speed to find openings in the defense enough to make fantasy hay.

Tank Dell, Texans – 5% rostered
My sweetest son out of 2023’s rookie class, Dell was the talk of Texans camp, making plays at will and developing into a red-zone target despite his diminutive size. He’s with a rookie QB in CJ Stroud who isn’t tied to a veteran target, so Dell can take his preseason success into the regular season. Even if you don’t use him this week, he needs to be on benches.

Tight End
Jake Ferguson, Cowboys – 35% rostered
Ferguson is the tip of the Cowboys TE iceberg, followed by Peyton Hendershot and Luke Schoonmaker. It could end up being a game of musical chairs for these TEs, but Ferguson will get the first shot, and for that reason he makes for a decent streamer in WK1.

Quarterback
Sam Howell, Commanders – 23% rostered
Howell has a full complement of receiving options at his disposal in WK1 against a woeful Cardinals team – His O-line is serviceable to boot. Howell was a favorite of ours from last year’s Senior Bowl and has bested Jacoby Brissett to start for the Commanders.

Good Mornin RW Nation 7th yr pro member ready for this season to kick off. TE question as Ive been back and forth.

12 TM PPR: I had Hurst and dropped him for Likely after hearing about Andrews. Would you stick with Likely this week and swap back for Hurst after waivers, or should I revert back and pick up and start Hurst prior to kickoff. TEs like Juwan Johnson and Irv smith are also available, but at this point I think its between Likely and Hurst? Thanks and best of luck this season.

    1. I think it is fine to go with Likely, I’m dealing with the same issue.

        Thanks Alex!

  2. Need 1 FLEX (PPR):
    Marvin Mims,
    Elijah Moore,
    or Isaiah Likely ?

    1. As long as Jeudy is out I’d go with Mims.

  3. 1 TE (PPR):
    Likely,
    Kincaid,
    or Musgrave?

    1. Dealing with same issue with my wife in a deep league she has. If you think Musgrave will clear waivers, you can do it, but in her league he won’t and I want her to have the shot to have him for the season, so I advised her to just roll with Musgrave because I like him better to break out on the season.

      1. Thanks Alex!

  4. Happy week 1, y’all.

    Was looking for flex advice
    1PPR and .25 PPCarry
    KWalker2
    Zeke
    Jamaal Williams
    Lazard
    JMeyers
    TBurks

Currently have KW2 in the spot

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

    1. If you feel good about his groin (that feels weird to type) you can keep KW3 in, I don’t want to tell you to get him out, but I would personally play J Williams.

      1. Thx, Alex

    2. I feel confident in Jamaal especially with the Carry bonus this week
