Trent Richardson Compares Himself to Mark Ingram

The comparisons are natural. Two great college RBs from the same school. While their running styles are by no means identical, their games do share some similarities. It makes you wonder how former Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram fell all the way to the bottom of the first round last year while Richardson is slated to be a can’t miss consensus top 5 pick this year.
During an interview with Trent Richardson at the Scouting Combine in Indy he explained that him and Mark are very close and that they are each others biggest critics. I took the opportunity to ask Trent to compare and contrast his game with Ingram’s.
This is what he had to say. “Our games are similar. Mark has better vision and is shiftier through the hole with a few more moves. I probably like contact more.” In separate press conferences Alabama LB’s Courtney Upshaw and Dont’a Hightower echoed these sentiments. While Trent and Co. are modest in their evaluations we do believe Richardson has more speed and is a higher rated prospect than Mark Ingram was.
