Fortunately, there are a slew of buy-low candidates in fantasy leagues right now. In an even greater stroke of fortune, I know just the guys you should trade for them.

Buy Low

Colin Kaepernick, QB San Francisco 49ers: It seems impossible after the almost 37-point monster Kaepernick had in week one, he’s averaged only 4.5 points a game since then and seems to have lost confidence in himself. The truth is that the sophomore slump can only last so long before Kaepernick’s sheer physical prowess reemerges on the field. Remember Cam Newton in 2012? Perhaps a Rams team that is 23rd against the pass is just the remedy he needs to get his mojo back. See if you can snag him before kickoff.

C.J. Spiller RB, Buffalo Bills: You worry too much. Spiller will have some down games, he went through an eight-game stretch last year when he didn’t surpass 100 yards, but he is an exceptional player on a team with a real passing threat. A quad injury, and the stout play of Fred Jackson, has owners a little worried about the guy and his potential, but you must realize that Spiller only needs one carry to change fantasy destinies. Trade for him while he still appears to be a mere mortal.

Steven Jackson RB, Atlanta Falcons: This move is more advisable to the teams that are 3-0 or 2-1 right now. Jackson is out for several games, and this is the perfect time to take him off the hands of worried owners who need wins now. He’ll do wonders for your playoff run.

Roddy White WR, Atlanta Falcons: That ankle won’t stay sprained forever, and White is one of fantasy’s constants when he’s healthy. He’s got to have frustrated some owners enough for them to move him.

David Wilson RB, New York Giants: The Giants are just a bad team right now, and Wilson’s play reflects that. What we know about the G-men though is that they’re late bloomers. They’ll make a run before season’s end and Wilson will be a big part of it.

Vernon Davis TE, San Francisco 49ers: As we’ve seen in his recent absence, Colin Kaepernick is lost without Davis. There have been some new faces at tight end that have been blowing up the stat sheet, but Davis is an integral part of his team’s offense — maybe more so than any other at the position. He’s not really low right now, but he’s going to get a lot higher.

Sell High

Knowshon Moreno, RB Denver Broncos: No there hasn’t been a changing of the guard in Denver, but we have seen in the past week that they can play their backs interchangeably and still find success on the field. There are surer bets for carries such as Bilal Powell or DeAngelo Williams that I think you could move him for.

Jason Witten TE, Dallas Cowboys: Witten is reliable as ever, but he’s losing steps and rookie TE Gavin Escobar is starting to see more playing time and end-zone looks.

Andre Johnson WR, Houston Texans: Johnson may be the most-targeted receiver in the NFL, but you would think that would show up on the stat sheet. He’s never been much of a red-zone target, and if these injuries keep compounding, he won’t get the yards to make up for it. His age is showing, bit he’s still a top name in receivers, so use that to your advantage.

Sidney Rice WR, Seattle Seahawks: As I’ve stated elsewhere, Percy Harvin is the only Seattle receiver worth owning until further notice. Rice had a great game last week, pretty much every ‘Hawk did, and use should use that momentum to get him off of your team. He’ll have good days but not enough to keep him relevant.

Benjarvus Green-Ellis RB, Cincinnati Bengals: The writing is on the wall, and it says Gio Bernard is going to eat The Law Firm’s lunch. Bernard’s speed and quickness make you realize just how slow and plodding the Green-Ellis really is. There’s no point in drowning on this sinking ship.

Mike Williams WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Gone is QB Josh Freeman, and with him any vague certainty that Williams will have the year we all hope he will have. I don’t know that he and Vincent Jackson can both survive Schiano’s Mike Glennon experiment with fantasy productivity intact. See what you can get for Williams ASAP.

Kyle Rudolph TE, Minnesota Vikings: QB Christian Ponder hasn’t gotten any better, and Rudolph is still heavily touchdown dependent. He’s got his name to carry his weight for awhile, but I don’t know how long that will last. In this day and age, you need a tight end that gets yards and TDs, and Rudolph is not that type of guy.

Dwayne Bowe WR, Kansas City Chiefs: Once the model of fantasy consistency, Bowe’s numbers have dwindled away under the puny armed Alex Smith. It’s going to be roller coaster of a season for the talented receiver. There are still some people who believe in Bowe though, and it’s probably best that he be on their teams.
