Fantasy Football Sleeper: WR Vincent Brown
Fantasy Football Sleeper: WR Vincent Brown
The Trashman, Rosterwatch.com
Third-year WR Vincent Brown is due for a breakout season. Brown is now fully recovered from a broken ankle that he sustained last August. If he locks down the Z receiver spot opposite X wideout Danario Alexander, Brown has a strong chance to lead the team in catches, as the team is going towards a shorter passing game. With this move away from deep routes, Brown has a realistic shot to beat out incumbent Malcom Floyd for a starting spot due to the fact that he’s a much better route runner and has great hands. He’s also eight years his junior.
San Diego was planning to “feature” Brown last season, and although there’s now a new regime in town, he is still a big part of the game plan. Coach McCoy said that Brown will “without a doubt” play a large role in the offense this year. To what extent this involvement will be, we don’t know. What we are certain of is that Brown has sleeper potential written all over him. With an average draft position of 159, behind guys like Chris Givens and Brian Hartline, You can scoop Brown up without much fanfare. He will go out with a bang though, as I have a feeling he’ll meet and best all expectations this season.
