Felix Jones and the Temple of Boom
Felix Jones and the Temple of Boom
By Dorian ColbertThere’s a lot riding on Dallas RB Felix Jones’ performance this year. Owner Jerry Jones has put the onus on the fourth year back to carry the Cowboys’ season, and why not? Though Jones has had what some would call a troubled injury history, he’s fully healthy coming into this season and he’s running like it. The guy’s got nothing to lose, including his job. Contrary to what many may think, he is not in competition with Demarco Murray for the number one RB spot, as Murray even stands behind Tashard Choice on the depth chart and will be primarily used on special teams. There is no committee here.
Furthermore, Jones has had the best preseason of any of the team’s backs, or any of the team’s players for that matter, lowering his pads and breaking tackles at will it seems. Sure there’s a lot of football to be played, so we’ll see how this all shakes out, but my outlook is optimistic. I have Jones finishing in the top ten RBs in fantasy performance (non PPR). Don’t be afraid to draft him with confidence in the third round. The arrow here is way up.
