Garbage Grab: Week 8
Garbage Grab: Week 8

We are officially at the halfway point of the fantasy season (if you’re planning on making it to the championship), and either things are going your way, or you need need to make some drastic moves to secure a win this week. These moves are about as drastic as you can get.
Kris Durham, WR Detroit Lions: Durham is the No.2 in Detroit as long as Nate Burleson is sidelined, so the fact that he’s not a major talent at the receiver position is of little consequence. He will get targets, and many of them will be in the end-zone due to his impressive height ( 6’7”). He’s like the Bizarro version of Calvin Johnson. He even went to school at the other Georgia university and was Stafford’s roommate there. The game versus Dallas this weekend should be highflying, and Durham will play a large role for the Lions.
Daniel Thomas, RB Miami Dolphins: The other half of the 1-2 sissy slap that is Dolphins running game, Thomas has rather unimpressively claimed primary back status in Miamiāat least according to their last game. Whether you like him as a runner or not, he’s going to take the goal line plunges, and Lamar Miller is doing nothing that leads me to believe that is going to change any time soon. Thomas averages a TD every two games, and he didn’t score last week, so he’s due.
Santana Moss, WR Washington Redskins: Moss has been a non-factor for the past several game, but I have reason to believe that he will show up this week. First, Leonard Hankerson is dealing with an injury. Second, the Redskins offense is finally starting to click. Third, They’re playing the Broncos, and Washington will have to take to the air to stay close to an angry Peyton Manning coming off a tough first loss.
Tyler Eifert, TE Cincinnati Bengals: Eifert keeps making plays for the Bengals, as evidenced by his 45 yard, 1 TD game last week, but the presence of Jermaine Gresham sometimes stifles his productivity. There should room enough for the both of them in Cincinnati’s offense this week, but I like Eifert for the score. He’s just a better playmaker than Gresham.
Brandon Bostick, TE Green Bay Packers: The sad and potentially season- (or even career) ending injury that Jermichael Finley suffered last week, has opened the door for the former basketball star. Bostick will play the move to Andrew Quarless’ blocking tight end, potentially resulting in some big plays thanks to Aaron Rodgers’ arm. The current lack of pass catchers in Green Bay is a boon to Bostick.
Tashard Choice RB, Buffalo Bills: Don’t get me wrong. Choice is no obvious decision at your flex spot, but with the news that C.J. Spiller will potentially sit out this week, he has become a spot fantasy start in the making. Fred Jackson is going to give it a go, but he’s still dealing with an ACL injury that could go from bad to worse very quickly. If the game gets out of hand early, and there’s a great chance it will, Buffalo will want to give Jackson some rest and let Choice pile up garbage time yards in his stead.
Cole Beasley WR, Dallas Cowboys: Beasley has quietly been a decent PPR receiver over the past three games, averaging about 5 catches and 50 yards. With Miles Austin doubtful to play this week, he’ll man the slot against the Lions in what I have already described as a potential shootout. It could very well go down as Beasley’s best game of the season.
