Scouting Notes: It seems like Steady Fred Taylor was playing in this league not too long ago, so it’s all the more wild that his son is coming into the pros this season. A jack of all trades and a master of none, Taylor doesn’t pop off the screen, but he can do one thing better than many of his contemporaries — and that’s hold on to the the ball. Taylor had over 500 touches in his college career and never fumbled once despite having wittle 8 1/4″ baby hands. You can be the fastest and strongest back in the league, but if you can’t hold onto the ball, you’re not going to see much action, ask Matt Jones or Ameer Abdullah circa 2015. More quick than fast, Taylor attacks holes with vigor, but needs to show more patience waiting for his blocks, as he’s not a great tackle-breaker and does not have the power in his legs to drive and shed through holes and lanes. He does possess decent vision though, and he has good hands — even though they’re very small. Aside from his handles, Taylor has a stellar work ethic — which he surely acquired from his dad who was known as having a blue-collar work ethic to overcome being plagued by injury early in his career. Those two qualities alone give him a leg up on most rookies coming into skill positions in the NFL intangible-wise. It’s just the actual tangible stuff that we worry just a little bit about.
Fantasy Outlook: The 49ers are light on quality backs, so Taylor stands a pretty good chance of seeing at least some action this season. Behind Carlos Hyde, it really is a bunch of total JAGS in Mike Davis, DuJuan Harris and Shaun Draughn. If Taylor can’t beat those guys out for some looks, it’s safe to say he can’t beat out anyone. He doesn’t seem to have the goods to be a productive three-down back, but he’s a nice second option who can fill in anywhere in a pinch. And though he missed time early in college due to injury, Taylor has been tough and reliable over the last couple of years, and there’s no reason to think he won’t take after his daddy in that respect on the next level. His likelihood of seeing action this season combined with his lack of explosive physical traits makes Taylor an intriguing late-round dynasty pick with a current ADP of 51 overall at MyFantasyLeague.

Guys, New pro member here, and I am flexing my pro membership muscles and asking a question.
I am in 2 very competitive leagues (25 keeper, .5 ppr, 12 tm league )in one I am in rebuild mode.
in the other I am a top 4team ( maybe top 3)
I am a player or 2 away from being able to take out one of the top 2 goliaths..
So I am skeptical to make a trade for a future pick with this team.
I have an offer where I went after a bottom 2 team ( his squad is just terrible ) like the worst !
To him
my 105 *(I had alshon, dez, ingram, kelvin, keenan all go down to IR last yr )
my 405
my 2017 3rd
to me
1.12
4.12
his 2017 1st
Do I make the deal and hope for one of the top sick studs in next yrs draft ?
Do I keep 105 and pick either coleman or Doctson at 105 ?
What’s your roster look like? I’d probably only do it if you’re weak, or will be, at rb.
I am running in the 1 rb 5 wide set ( with no TE required ) but have the option to drop 2 wrs and go with 2 rb – 3 wr- 1 TE formation
Here is my roster
QB – A Rod – Brees
RB – Ingram – Hill – Ameer – White – Sims – ellington –
WR – Kelvin – DEZ – Cooks – Alshon – Keenan – Coates – D Adams – Hardy – Huff – Rashad Matthews – JJ Nelson – Sanu – Trav Benjamin – K Bell – Perriman – P Richardson –
TE- Barnidge – Rogers
And its IDP so I am hurting there
The biggest issue is there is 2 power houses –
Cam – Gurley – AP – Evans – Julio – Robinson – Gronk
the other team is
– Wilson – Charles – Lacy – Odell – Ant Brown – k White – Demariys – Ertz –
I feel like I need to truly go balls out to compete with these clowns.
Your rb corps is suspect. The trade is something I’d seriously consider. You need to package some of those wrs to see if you can either consolidate your wr corps or improve your rbs. you might even think about shipping brees if you want to try to compete this season.
Thanks Trashman , But can I get Byron or Alex’s opinion ?
JK
I am going to look at moving Dez for Freeman
or
Try moving dez for 101 ?
haha, they’re knowledgeable, but the Trashman has the winning touch most Sundays somehow. he’s your lynch pin at wr, you seem against it, but i might try moving brees instead if you’re trying to compete this season. who knows how many years he has left anyways. he won’t do you any good on your bench, whereas you need dez every week.
Thanks TM
Ya this league is uber competitive.
Anyone over 27 at rb is almost untradable.
Unless its AP.
I tried trading brees before but had no serious bites. I dont think i could get a serious player for him.
Ir any better than a 2nd in 2017.
Its like the number one asset you can have in this league is youth.
I had a bite for.dez .. he offered charles and a 2017 1st for dez and a 2017 2nd.
I declined.
Charles is 30 and super injury prone.
Not the kinda brother i want to invest in…not for.dez ..or even allen for that matter.
