RWi RosterWatch Matchup Tool – Week 8
This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch. It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.
Let’s say you own Lions RB Joique Bell, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.
First look at the Lions’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. RBs” cell for the Lions’ OPPONENT.
(Bell is an RB, and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)
As you will see, the Lions are playing the Falcons, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. RBs” cell. This is a great indicator for owners of Bell and other Lions running backs.
Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start, sit or pick up off the waiver wire for matchup or daily-league spot-plays.
“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.
BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups
The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also weighted averages of separate individual player scouting grades for members of the 2014 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question in Week 6.

Great tool!
Question:
My RBs are Leveon Bell, Eddie Lacy and Justin Forsett
My TEs are Jordan Reed and Jimmy Graham
I can have 2 RBs, 1 TE and a flex. I need 4 of the 5.
Thanks!
It sounds crazy, but I’d probably sit Graham one more week. We know the floors of those RBs are pretty high, and Reed is a solid option. You can’t afford another clunker from Graham.
Will do! I actually sat him last week, too. Larry Donnell came thru for me.
Need to pick my 3rd receiver…..Cordarrelle Patterson or DeAndre Hopkins? Odell Beckham is on bye 🙁
I’d go with Hopkins. CPat had a nice game last week but only had 4 targets. Hopkins gets more looks right now.
I am loaded at RB but nobody will make any trades. WR’s are Alshon, Sanu, Michael Floyd. Worth dropping Josh Gordon to pick up Doug Baldwin? 10 Team .5 PPR
It’s not like Harvin was getting a ton of targets when he was on the team. Unless you’re at risk of being out of playoff contention, I wouldn’t do it.
Need a TE with Donnell on bye. My worst two players are Crowell and Andre Holmes. Which do I drop for a TE? Also my TE choices are Cook, Clay, or Fleener all with a favorable matchup.
rul8agn-
We hate to drop either, depends on what you need more- RB or WR depth? Both have valuable upside. This is Clay or Fleener for us. We are big Clay fans, and it looks like he is finally healthy and coming around. Snap counts and targets last week almost dead even between Clay and Fleener last week. Still, as a tie breaker- we might want to see Clay do it one more time. Fleener has been a more serviceable play on the season, and we love buying stock in Andrew Luck. If Wayne is out this week, it could mean more targets for everyone else. Good luck.
.5 PPR Sanu or Allen Robinson? Kearse, Davante Adams and Landry are available.
12 team .5PPR…5-2 record but started 5-0. Drafted A. P. but was able to trade Royal for F. Jackson…as a result weak at RB: L Miller, R Bush, Sankey, F Jax, K Robinson, and Storm…Strong at WR: Nelson , Maclin , E Sanders, S Smith…with J Thomas at TE and Luck at QB…Question: Should I hang onto Storm or pick up from the waiver wire: J Randle , J Stewart, J Gray , or Stills? These are the best available.
Whatsup gentlemen. Thanks for the advice last week. A good RB conundrum I have
Dre Ellington
Joique Bell
Ben Tate
Ahmad Bradshaw
3 out 4 ppr league
Bradshaw, Tate, Bradshaw. good luck
Got a trade proposal. I get Demarco Murray, I give up Jamaal Charles and Percy Harvin.
2 WR and I already have Demaryius Thomas, Kelvin Benjamin, and TY Hilton.
Should I accept the trade?
I’d take that for sure. Get the best RB in the game and your WRs have 2 bye weeks between the 3 of them.
I like Charles to come close to matching Murray from here on out, so I don’t see it as that much of an upgrade, but I get the lure of the trade. I’d definitely grab Randle and or Dunbar if you pull the trigger. I would probably stay put personally, and use Harvin as trade bait if someone gets hurt.
Hey RW, I’ve got a few questions regarding this 4-3 team (6th place out of 12; top 2 teams are 6-1 and 3 teams are tied at 4-3 ) in this standard league:
QB: Palmer
RB: Lynch, D. Robinson (Jennings, T-Rich, Bryce Brown, Dixon)
WR: J. Jones, Garcon (Gordon, Evans, Baldwin)
TE: J. Thomas
FLEX: Gronk
K: empty
DEF: empty
Notable FAs: Chris Johnson, Sproles, A. Williams, Crowell, Cooks, Patterson, Holmes, Hawkins, and RG3, Tannehill, Orton
1. Would you add any of the above listed FAs over anyone on my team now?
2. Which two players get dropped Sunday morning for a kicker and DEF?
3. Should I trade away T-Rich for Fred Jackson straight up? Was offered by this team that is somehow 6-1:
QB: Brees (Flacco)
RB: Morris, A. Smith (Fred Jackson)
WR: Cobb, D. Jackson (Hopkins, Boldin)
TE: Bennett (D. Walker)
FLEX: A.J. Green
Pending a trade though, that team will be trading away Cobb, Morris, and Hopkins for J. Charles and Edelman so I don’t even what to counter with since all he wants from my team is either Lynch, Gronk or T-Rich?!
RG3 should be owned, and Patterson or Holmes could quickly be more valuable than Baldwin. I’d probably drop Brown and Rich if I had to for this week. Rich is going to be able to help you before Jackson can. I’d only take it if I got a win tomorrow.
Quick question. Looking for one flex.
Tre mason
Andre Holmes
Andrew Hawkins
Chris ivory.
In a .5 PPR
Thanks gentlemen
Buffalo is the toughtest team in the league to run on, but I think the Jets might move the ball as they are division opponents. I like Mason, but I’m unsure of his usage week to week. We know Ivory will at least get the touches, and goal line looks as well.
A trade question – 10-team league that starts 3 RBs and 3 WRs. Current roster is:
MRyan
CPalmer
DThomas
DBryant
MWallace
KBenjamin
JGordon
JMcKinnon
AMorris
JHill
RJennings
AWilliams
RMathews
FJackson
(Lots of RB issues). Am 5-2. Do I weather the storm waiting for RBs to return to health or execute one of these trades:
A) trade DThomas/MRyan/AWilliams for ESanders/Brees/Forsett
Or
B) trade DBryant/FJackson for AJeffrey/Forsett
I’d make the latter trade
I need two RB’s of these 4: Hillman, Forsett, Mckinnon or Ingram?
Martellus or Ertz?
I need to fill Flex position from these players:
Andre Johnson, James Jones, 2 of the RB above and the extra TE?
If you’ve already played Hillman, then Forsett. If not, Forsett and McKinnon. Bennett over Ertz and the INgram in the flex.
WRs are Alshon, Sanu and Michael Floyd.
RBs are McCoy, Gio, Ellington, Ben Tate, Lamar Miller.
Received a trade of Sanu and Miller for Cobb.
Alshon and Cobb have same bye week.
Thoughts on trade offer?
You definitely have the wr depth to make the trade. I don’t like the bye week issue though. I think you could probably find another owner who’d be willing to make a similar trade for a WR1.
Rivers or Palmer And Flex (.5 PPR) Oliver or Watkins?
I have romo and wilson… was offered mcfadden for romo…. my rb are ellington and vereen… I kind of have to make this move no?
It’s a reasonable trade, yes.
Standard league: Floyd or Benjamin at my wr3 spot? I know Floyd has the matchup and you guys rank him higher, but Benjamin is becoming matchup proof right? One of the two can go in my flex of you like them better than Ellington, Gio, or DMC…
Yeah, I feel safer with Benj. I think you sit Floyd for those guys.
Full ppr: 3 wr, 2 rb, TE, wr/rb/te
I have:
Wr: Julio, Djax, k. Allen (all 3 with bad matchups), evans, and Megatron (if he plays)
RB: miller, Oliver, mason
TE: graham, Cameron
I have my lineup set as those first 3 wrs and 2 rbs, I don’t know what to do at the flex and TE. Any help would be appreciated. 1st place team with FJax, Mathews, Gordon, Jennings, ODB all hurt or on bye this week
-also roddy or Evans in a standard league?
Mega if he plays, if not then Mason. I’d play Graham at TE. I like Evans over Roddy.
We only roster a maximum of 4 WRs in our 12 team redraft league. Current WRs are Antonio Brown, Kelvin Benjamin, Michael Floyd, and Cordarrelle Patterson. I am going to flex Patterson this week due to his very favorable matchup. However, he has been a big disappointment thus far. Should I wait to see how he performs this week before dropping him for a WR on the waiver wire or just can’t bait now? Am I crazy to consider this? If you could let me know, I would greatly appreciate it. Unfortunately, I can’t drop a different position to get a WR off the waiver wire. I have to drop a WR to grab a WR off the waiver wire. Below is a list of WRs on our waiver wire.
Odell Beckham
Allen Robinson
Malcolm Floyd
Andre Holmes
Brandon LaFell
Stevie Johnson
Davante Adams
Jarvis Landry
Brian Quick
Mike Evans
I’d drop him for Beckham or Evans. They’re going to be more consistent over the course of the season.
Whats up guys….
I have 1 WR spot to fill which has been tricky all year so far: Roddy White, Doug Baldwin, Torry Smith, Brandin Cooks. So far this year Its been between Roddy and Cooks, and I missed out on playing Roddy last week. Normally I go with who ever is playing at home that week. According to the tool Baldwin has the best matchup this week. Thanks in advance
We have Roddy and Baldwin back to back in our rankings with Roddy ahead.
Standard league. Lacy, Ingram, Benjamin. Pick 2.
