Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 8
Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 8
The pickings are slim this week, but that’s because most of my waiver wire winners are finding forever homes on rosters across the nation. Let’s see if we can add a few studs to the stable this week…
Quarterback
Josh McCown, Jets: McCown is no stranger to the Grab, but he’s been playing like a top 5 QB over the last few weeks, and is still little owned, so I’m going to keep running with it. He gets a Falcons team at home this week that is reeling from 3 consecutive losses.
Running Back
Jalen Richard, Raiders: Richard is the more dynamic of the two backups in Oakland, with prowess in the passing game in addition to an explosive running style. I think he has a better chance of making room for himself than DeAndre Washington, though Washington is worth a gamble if you’re desperate for a flex and Richard is owned.
Austin Ekeler, Chargers: Ekeler is little by little making a name for himself in Los Angeles with his knack for scoring TDs catching passes out of the backfield. I think he’s going to get quite a bit of run against the sieve-like defense of the Patriots this week.
Wide Receiver
Deonte Thompson, Bills: Jordan Matthews is the assumed no.1 in Buffalo, but his banged up thumb and Thompson’s week 7 breakout may have some say in that come Sunday. He’s a journeyman with questionable upside, but the Bills don’t have much to work with right now, and he’s already a proven commodity in the offense.
John Ross, Bengals: Ross couldn’t return to unlimited action in a better matchup than against the hapless Colts this week as a deep threat who can take some of the pressure off of A.J. Green. The fastest player at the combine, ever, needs to be owned as a speculative playoff boon even if you don’t need him this week.
Brandon Coleman, Saints: Drew Brees has been singing the praises of Coleman who is basically the tight end in in New Orleans with Coby Fleener being a non-factor most of the time. He’s especially potent in the end-zone though his lack of high volume targets can be disconcerting.
T.J. Jones, Lions: Kenny Golladay was the talk of Detroit this week until he was ruled out, leaving Jones to man the field opposite Marvin Jones. There’s no Golden Tate this week, so look for Jones to get plenty of targets in a tough matchup.
Tight End
Vernon Davis, Redskins: With the majority of Redskins WRs being completely worthless, there’s plenty of room for both Davis and Jordan Reed to operate. With games of either a TD or 65+ yards over the last 4 weeks, Davis makes for a fine streamer against Dallas this week.
Ryan Griffin, Texans: The Texans aren’t likely to attack the Seahawks on the outside with much success, so look for them to focus on the middle of the field. Griffin had 8 targets in his last game, and I expect him to see a similar number in Seattle this week.

Full PT PPR: I need some serious help. Pick your poison! I love your show! You guys helped me in week three and it was a God send. I am 5-2 playing the #2 guy in the league and I want to leave no doubt that this is MY league!
Core group of WR:
D. Hopkins
T. Hill
C. Hogan
D. Thomas
A. Thielen
RB Howard or Kamara! HELP
Howard…
would you start JuJu over t Coleman in the flex (also starting freeman @RB)
Yes… usually like the rb over wr in the flex but juju has been on a roll!
Would you bench Wentz today because of rain in Philly in favor of R Wilson? Also at what point does wind become a factor — weather in Philly rain and wind of about 16mph.
Wilson for sure
What say you Trashman?

Start Diggs or Garçon? Start Deon Lewis or C J Anderson?
1pt ppr need 1 RB 1 flex out of Diggs, Hyde, CJ Andersen & Carr or Dak
Dotson in the rain or Lockett in the clear? Points for kick and pint returns too. 12 team ppr
Should I pivot off Cousins for Weather concerns today. Not a lot of choices but I could go with Keenum. Thoughts
Need to start 2 in a 1 point PPR
Howard
Ingram
Mccaffrey
Help!
Tough call…. if I have to make a stand I go Howard and….. and…….. and…….. Damn I just can’t decide…. check the RW rankings and then you make the call!
need start one. PPR. Doctson, Pryor, or John Ross?
Check the rankings!
Starting freeman and Julio should I flex T Coleman, amendola, Robby Anderson, or ASJ half point ppr?
Weather is supposed to severely affect this game. I don’t know if I want all my eggs in a soggy basket.
I want to start Funchess and Mixon over Crabtree in by Flex. I don’t want to sit Melvin Gordon despite the injury reports in my season-long.
Full point PPR – Houston Oilers.
Do you hate that? If so, who do you drop of the three?
Don’t sit Melvin.
Standard league
QB; Stafford or cousins
Flex: alshon, garcon or fuller
6-1 record in my 10-team, standard scoring league and we play 1QB/1TE/1K/1DST/2RB/2WR/1FLEX of RB or WR. I’m planning for ROS/Playoffs and currently only have 1 each of QB-Carr, TE-Kelce, Phlly kicker and NO DST. I think I need to begin positioning for match-up proof 2QBs and 2DSTs…think Kelce and my kicker can standalone.
My question is whether to drop NO DST now and pick up either Buffalo or Rams (latter on a bye week but I can probably win even with a zero DST score). I’d like to eventually get both Bills and Rams DST but with bye weeks the next two weeks I know Rams will be picked up and I’m last in waiver order.
Is my strategy of which positions to start adding a 2nd to wise? And, do you agree I should drop NO for Bills DST before today’s game? Thanks in advance.
No….
I know you answered this before, but with the weather, I just want to make sure it’s still the same. Half point ppr, need a flex between Funchess, Garcon, and CJA.
What was the previous answer???
Didn’t want to skew this answer, since it could be from a different person.
Well your previous question had Coleman and Brate in it as well… lots of weather all over the place may or may not affect each particular game and player. Here are some thoughts…. In your omlettes do you like cheese, peppers, sausage, mushrooms, spinach??? Also what toppings do you like on your frozen yogurt? Fruit, mm’s, butterfingers, nuts or gummi bears? If you ask 10 or 100 different people he same question you will get a whole lot of variance…. Get yourself a Ouji board!
Thanks man, very helpful. If I hadn’t said anything about asking previously, I guess I would have gotten an answer. Thanks for your help. I ruled out Brate and Coleman myself and went with the top 3. The weather update this morning had me worried, so I thought I would check in again. Like I said, I appreciate your help.
But the original answer was Garcon.
10 team standard
Weather is scaring me as well as Luke K and Coleman back on defense for Carolina.

Another QB/ rain question. Should I go with Rivers or Taylor? Thanks
Hello Trashman.. am I crazy for waiting to start Ekeler over Gordon today?
Yes but you should stash Eklar!
D. Thomas T. Hill?
Rivers or Wentz?
Hanging on by a thread 111-117. He has Hunt and Kelce to play tonight. I can choose between D. Thomas or T. Hill. Help me hang on to this much needed win. Who do you go with here!?
Ur gonna need some big plays. Personally I would go with Hill
I want to trade will fuller. Who is someone I should look to go after? I would like a WR and RB
Rocky rocky rocky…. every so often this type of question comes up and I am sorry but it simply cannot be answered the way you wish. First of all you have to go hunting and find teams in your league that may be interested in or need a wr and are willing to pay for someone who has been largely td dependent and is defying the odds every week! Then you have to see if they have someone on their team you want. Then you have to see if they are willing to trade the peices you want for Fuller. And it goes on and on and on. That being said you might throw it out there to a couple teams and see if anyone is interested and go from there. Otherwise sit back and enjoy the crazy Will Fuller fantasy football td train coming to a town near you soon!!!
I have Darrin McFadden what’s his status I’m weak at rb. I have Cj Anderson ,Arron jones, Chris Thompson. Is Rod Smith a better prospect heading towards the run for playoffs or should I stay ??
